How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The harbour and highway noise early in the morning is quite loud if one has the patio doors open. For the rest of the day it is quite quiet though...
Apartment was very clean and had a lot of useful facilities such as a Nespresso machine and air conditioning. Beds and bedding was very comfortable. Great TV and comfortable furniture

I liked everything!
Beautiful apartment with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay yet felt luxurious too. The location was amazing, just a 5 minute walk to the waterfront. It also was secure and we felt very safe. Ursula was great at communicating and Nabu was wonderful. The little touches (cold water, wine, chocolates and biscuits) were very much appreciated!

Security and ability to contact the host. Walking distance from V&A Waterfront which also has a pick up point for hop-on tour bus.

Coming from the UK I did struggle a little with the concept of the security gate between the flat and the restaurants at the V&A waterfront being locked at 8pm. In the end we didn't walk to dinner but took the car and parked in one of the many carparks at V&A (very cheaply). We could have walked there and got an Uber back but seemed easier just to take the car.
Very spacious and beautiful apartment. Extra touches like bottle of wine, biscuits, tea, coffee and milk were very welcome.

Friendly and effortless communication from the owner. Place was clean, spacious and wonderful views. Everything I needed was there, I can't fault anything. I loved the welcome gifts, that was a nice touch and kitchen had high quality appliances. I stayed in unit 507, absolutely amazing and clean.

The security at the reception can be quite a pain, but they are just doing their job- keep the building secure and safe.
2nd time we stayed- the location is convenience and central. Place is clean and nicely decorated.

There was nothing
The apartment was great, location was perfect not too far from the Waterfront. Had all the essentials you would need. Great bonus was the washer and dryer in the apartment, at least you could have your clothes washed before heading back home.

Location wise, you can’t really walk to V&A Waterfront - but still great and only a 5 mins Uber

The 2nd bedroom gets quite warm at night, even with the fan.
Nice, large apartment with a big balcony, overlooking the canal, walking distance to V&A Waterfront and very friendly staff at reception. Thanks for the coffee / tea / wine / biscuits!

The only thing I could find wrong was the shower was a little mouldy. Thats about it.
A very beautiful apartment, such a nice location. Spacious and close to the VA waterfront. The hosts had great communication and were nice enough to leave us a bottle of wine and some sweets which was such a nice touch. The house keeper was amazing and showed us around when we arrived.

Apartment could use some maintenance, like fixing the main bathroom vanity cupboard and tightening the second bedroom cupboard doors. As well as cleaning behind the washing machine and dryer as a lot of dust accumulates from the machine from behind
The location of the apartment was perfect. The apartment felt very homey and was comfortable. The bottle of wine and biscuits left by the host was such a sweet gesture. Loved every minute.

Room 2 just needs an aircon
Excellent clean and spacious apartment. Owner was very hospitable. Left us chocolates, fresh Milk tea and coffee.Very thoughtful and respectful. Location was fantastic. Walking distance to CTICC and very close to waterfront. Would highly recommend staying there.
