We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

South Africa1. The room I booked, the aircon did not work but luckily the staff could arranged another room for me 2. Having other guests is not a problem, but guests who have visitors at 2am midnight is extrememly inconsiderate and a problem. Hooting multiple times and interrupting others while sleeping. They could have phoned their "Friend" to meet them instead of making such noise 3. With unexpected visitors from booked guests, poses a security risks as i did not feel safe with what happened. 4. House has alot of bugs 5. Driving at night back to the house, would a great touch to add some street lights as it is pitch black dark as you cannot see anything other than relying on your vehicles headlights.
Overall location is good and very central to everything. Close to malls, hartbeespoort activities and plenty restaurants nearby to choose from.

South AfricaThere was only one coffee mug and one tea cup. Would have appreciated two coffee mugs. Only powdered milk was provided, long life milk pods would have been better. Only three coffee sachets but a lot of tea. Not tea drinkers. So we couldn't have coffee before bed and the next morning before our run. Had to buy coffee and milk. The sugar was clumpy as if it got wet inside the sachet packaging. The fan didn't work.
We had a beautiful view of the dam. Room and bathroom was spacious and comfortable.

Obviously for security reasons but our room had a balcony that could not be accessed - disappointing as we wanted to have our coffee out on the balcony. Mattress was hard which I loved but my mom didn't.
Location is great on the first road right by the dam, room and bathroom was exceptionally clean, staff were friendly and helpful and open to suggestions for improvement. Value was great especially being one of the few places that allows 1 night stay.

There was no electricity and they did not care, had to go up and down to ask for help with the garage door to be opened manually. the beds were very uncomfortable and it was cold only a 1 ply blanket was provided with no heater.

South AfricaDirty, spiders and insects everywhere, mould on the ceilings, bathroom in desperate need of attention. The checking in system is shocking. We tried to go to sleep at 9 as I had the 50km race today and we had someone screaming outside trying to get the attention of the person to allow them in. There were stains on the linen and curtains. No positives at all. I feel that at R1400 for the room I should be reimbursed. Absolute thievery. Gross!!!!

BotswanaWe were told the pool was working 2 days before our travel date, only to get there and find the pool green🤢 used the week’s rain as an excuse but that pool didn’t look to have been operational for a long time! The apartments looked old and dilapidated on the outside, the rooms were stuffy and smelled mouldy. Reception wasnt good at all, GPS took us to the back and we waited for about 20mins to be let in. And the guy who opened works for a different place which is in the same complex, so there’s no one to care for the yatch house guests. The door lock seemed to have been picked, we didn’t feel safe as a group of just girls. The owner refused to refund saying we should wait for booking.com to refund instead which is inconsiderate coz we dont have that kind of money lying around. Also, due to the water situation in Harties, the smell is so bad especially by waterfront apartments, woke up with a splitting headache coz the dam gives off a sewage smell.
