Everything was great

Everything was perfect!! What a great place and the value for money is very good (especially comparing to other safaris). Staff is incredibly attentive, well organised and friendly. We felt at home immediately. Rob, our ranger was wonderful and made our time here special - he made us understand that it's not all about the big 5 but showed us so many other amazing animals and plants (even though we did manage to see the big 5). His knowledge is incredible. Every night another ranger had dinner with the group which was also really lovely. We had the best two days!

A few minor points because of course Woodbury Tented Camp prices are extremely competitive for the package offered - and we're very happy we booked there! The noise from traffic on the N2 at night was a pity. Maybe time for a few maintenance updates like woodwork-care.

The ambiance, the location, the scenery, the delicious and generous food and beverages, the relaxed but professional friendliness of all staff, the swimming pools, the common lounge and dining areas, the fire area, and of course the incredible game drives... Seamus was simply wonderful as our game driver - so friendly, humorous, knowledgeable in an approachable way and as excited about sightings as any of us on his vehicle 😀 ... We booked for friends from Germany as well and they loved the experience, comparing it very favourably to any other game reserve experience they've had in South Africa. They said they'll be back next visit 😀!

We loved the Woodbury tented camp - you have anything you need and more. More like glaming, it was amazing and so well designed. The food - so delicios. The staff - so welcoming and friendly. Our guide for the game drives was Nico - he was so amazing. He has got a lot of knowlage and thanks to him we saw everything we could have seen, a big thank you to him and to all of the staff at Woodbury tented camp. We’ve had the best experience anyone could have had. THANK YOU

Beautiful property with exceptional staff. We had outstanding service from the moment we arrived. The tent was very comfortable and exactly what we were looking for. The wait staff were attentive and quick to offer anything we could want. Our guide Cleone was top notch and helped us have really incredible game viewing. A true highlight of our time in South Africa! (My only caveat is that we were able to get a very good price because we booked last minute and thus paid significantly less than what the property initially quoted when we contacted them outside of this booking platform. This increased our value for money score and is probably a big part of why we were so happy with the stay.)

The drives were fun and we saw all the animals we expected including lions, cheetahs, elephants and rhinos. Our guide Donavon was very knowledable and friendly. All the staff were very helpful. We found our stay a very relaxing experience. The food was excellent and nice to have swimming pools to cool down in during the day.

Food is great and servings ample. The tented accommodation spacious, clean and very comfortable. Although the service overall is exceptional, Rob deserves a special mention! Best game drive ever. Rob's knowledge and passion for his trade is admirable and ensured a return visit from us!

That we couldn’t stay any longer!

Super cool game drives, with the guides taking the time and effort to help you find the animals you’d like to see and telling you about all the in’s and out’s of the animals you see along the way. I’m not the camping type but the tent was much more comfortable than I expected, with a good bed, good shower and great views! They organized ‘camp’ fires with all the guest, snacks and drinks during the drive, everyone is very nice, the facility is comfortable, the meals are good, we loved it and will return if we have the chance!

Better training for those waiting on tables. Teach staff to interact with guests and "see" them, really listen to the orders and make sure they are correct. Please have milk jugs! - my request for milk was met with a full mug of milk - really??. Do not place two very large juice containers on a table for two - in the sun. Maybe rather allow for self-dispensing inside.

The tented accommodation was different and very good. Tents were far apart - it felt as though you were the alone when sitting on your own deck looking out over the valley. Loved the pathways cut through the spekboom and lined with logs, plenty of lighting to light the way at night. Great outdoor deck at the lodge for eating gazing out over the valley and a great boma for sitting around the fire at night. Check in was excellent - very friendly woman. Game drives were SUPERB! Brad, our guide was great fun as well as a mine of information on animals, birds, geomorphology etc. Very impressive and to be congratulated.

The lunch on arrival was poor and the guests who dished first ate most of the food leaving the scraps for us who had just arrived. The meals were very basic and a disappointment. The tents are very small and scarcely furnished. Coffee was terrible.

The reserve is beautiful with lots of good animal sightings. The game drives were good, Tim was a great guide. The views from the tents are stunning.
