Hotels That Guests Love in Key West

Almond Tree Inn

“The location of the hotel is ideal, in the heart of Key West but secluded from the Main Street. We loved staying here, the room was superb and the atmosphere is so relaxed. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Brendan was amazing and helped us with arrangements, bookings and tips for the town. The happy hour by the pool is a lovely start to the evening and breakfast offers a nice buffet selection. I would like to thank everyone at the Almond Tree and we hope to be back!”

“Everything :) Very nice and helpful hotel staff, cosy and comfortable room, beautiful hotel and quiet surrounding. Close to the city center (around 10 min). Swimming pool was big enough to relax and spend there whole day. For me this hotel is a perfect place for spending lovely weekend in beautiful Key West. We hope to be back very soon”

Oceans Edge Key West

“This property is spectacular. We were upgraded for free to a King Suite Room. The entire hotel was immaculate and the grounds were lovely and very well maintained. The lounge chairs around the pool were the most comfortable I've ever been in! We had lunch in the hotel restaurant and the prices were on par with what you would expect at a high end luxury resort. The staff was very helpful any time we interacted with them.”

Casa Marina Beach & Resort Club Waldorf Astoria

“The view is unbelievable and the rooms balcony looked out over the ocean. I went there to propose to my girlfriend and when I told the staff there they couldn’t do enough to help me. They upgraded the room free of charge and also put rose petals, chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of champagne in the room for when we got back that evening. Great hotel, great views, great location and great staff!! BOOK THIS HOTEL!!!”

Things to Do in Key West

Mallory Square
Sunsets are so epic here that the locals created a daily event in their honor. Head to the waterside docks of Mallory Square two hours before dusk to experience the Sunset Celebration. Mostly an arts and crafts festival, it’s a perfect way to take in some Key West culture while watching the sun slip into the sea.
Louie's Backyard
Louie’s Backyard might just be the best spot on the island to get that magical Key West feeling. Grab a table on the waterside deck and treat yourself to an unbeatable sunset view. There’s nothing quite like sitting in the Caribbean breeze, drink in hand, watching the red sun go down into the shimmering turquoise Gulf.
Southernmost Beach Cafe
White sand, cyan sea, and orange clouds...watching the sunset from the Southernmost Beach Cafe is a must. From their beachside deck, you’ll get a front-row seat to the Gulf’s best show – not to mention the fantastic mojitos! And if the Floridian heat’s in full force, don’t miss a refreshing dip in the sea as night falls. asked travelers...

What's the best way to watch a sunset in Key West?

The best way to watch the sunset in Key West is either to go out on an organised catamaran trip, OR go towards Mallory Square but instead of heading to the very front where the restaurant is and standing with everyone, go to the docks where there are a number of benches facing the sunset. These are often empty (Surprisingly) and there isn't the noise from a "Cat performer" that there is in mallory square. That being said, on another evening go watch the performance, it is very entertaining :D
Really? This one is legendary, isn't it? You go to the far end of Duval Street (i.e., the NORTH end of Duval) and when it dead ends, you're there! At Mallory Square. That's where everyone in Key West who isn't at Truman Annex watches the sunset. Spectacular. And loads of diversion (performers, etc...)
You have to visit Mallory square for the sunset, watch the street performers eat street food and sip cocktails with thousands of like minded people
Take a dinner cruise. These folks do a fantastic job of finding the best sunset in Key West. The food is a buffet, but very tasty.
Sunset Pier at Mallory Square, best spot, locals come out and do shows every night it is a gathering, something not to miss!
Highly recommend you make reservations at Lattitudes restaurant watching the sunset having a wonderful dinner.
Forget Mallory sq. Get on the Danger tour's schooner for a wine & cheese sail at sunset.
sitting under a umbrella with a good looking wait staff handing a you food and drink.
Stand where the sunset is over the water. It's a beautiful sight to see!
Go to the North-West corner of the island, on the sunset boardwalk.

Key West Highlights

Mallory Square makes a real song and dance of Key West’s gorgeous sunsets, attracting crowds with performers and food stalls in preparation for the main event.
