The women at the reception are all capable and lovely. Ask for the map to the valleys nearby. if you like to hike, it’s fabulous and then some.

Located in the centre of Locarno, just 100 metres from Piazza Grande, Villa Art'è occupies a Liberty-style building dating from the late 19th century. Guests can relax on the terrace and in the... This cozy villa is located very close to the city centre, we could park the car right infront of the house during the night for free. The host is very friendly and gave us tips onto what to visit near Locarno. We had a lovely homemade breakfast, the room was clean and had everything we needed!

Located directly on the shore of Lake Maggiore, a private bathing beach, the jetty with its own marina and garden, guest rooms and suites. What is there to not like about this hotel. So beautiful, staff is great, the spa was amazing. Ascona was for us a wonderful unexpected gem.

Piccolo Hotel enjoys a quiet location, an 8-minute walk from the Locarno Train Station and the centre of the city. The hotel staff were welcoming, considerate and attentive. They are knowledgeable in regards to the area and the relevant leisure activities including walks/hikes. The entire premises was clean – the actual hotel room stayed in was cleaned very well, daily. Although I’m no art expert, it’s worth stating the hotel had a tasteful theme, (I believe 1950’s art deco), that was applied very well. The breakfast was exceptional – a proper continental spread which included home-made jams. In regards to the foods I consumed (bakery, cereal and coffee), these were all very good quality.

The family-run Hotel Garni Golf is located in the heart of Ascona’s Old Town, just steps away from the promenade and Lake Maggiore. Guests can benefit from free WiFi. The hosts were wonderful- friendly happy and knowledgeable. The rooms were spacious and spotless and everything worked perfectly. The position was magic - just a stone’s throw from the lake promenade. So convenient. The breakfast buffet was delicious, with fruit, cheeses, meats, jams , yoghurts bread, croissants etc etc. when we left they even gave us a loaf of their marvellous Ticino bread to take home. A wonderful 4 days!
