This boutique hotel is situated in Goslar, within a few minutes' walk of all main sights. Set on the Steinberg hill, it offers free WiFi as well as a great view of Goslar and the Harz Mountains. The hotel is the outskirts of the town, on a hill at a 5 minutes drive from the city center, in a quiet neighbourhood. Our room was modern, quiet and spotlessly clean but what we loved most was the giga-enormous, tasty buffet breakfast in the morning which contained everything one might desire (both salty and sweet, which is not so common in Germany)

Hotel Sonnenhof is situated in Bad Sachsa. The hotel offers a garden, a terrace and there is free WiFi access available. We stayed here for five nights. On arrival, the parking was good and the welcome was warm. The room was lovely and spacious, with plenty of storage for our luggage. There was a comfortable bed and separate lounge/seating area, along with a balcony that had a table and chairs. It was great sitting out in the evening. The breakfast was excellent, with so much choice of hot and cold options. The location was about 10 to 15 minutes walk into town down a steep hill, but the exercise helped to work off the breakfast. I would absolutely stay here again.

This guest house is located in the Old Town district of Wernigerode, a 10-minute walk from Wernigerode Town Hall. The bright rooms at Altstadt Pension Orchidee feature a flat-screen TV and a sofa. The property is ideally situated close to the city centre and very near to the train station for those wanting to ride the HSB to the Brocken or elsewhere. The manageress is very friendly and very keen to ensure that the guests' needs are fully catered for. She has put a lot of personal touches to the bedrooms and breakfast area which makes the guests feel relaxed and at home and valued.

Set in tranquil nature and featuring a historical ambience, this grand castle hotel offers spacious rooms with Italian period furniture. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of choices at the buffet. The service at breakfast by the waitresses was very good. The location was excellent! The castle and the grounds are beautifully kept and inside was warm and cosy with lovely antique furnishings to fit the castle’s original era. Lots of attractions nearby!
