They provided a complimentary (and beautiful) flower arrangement with our message on a card...our friend was extremely surprised and moved by the gesture. In addition to this, the grounds are amazing...we spent hours exploring the old monastery, beautifully cared for organic gardens, library, artifacts in every room and paths around the property. It was like staying at a museum, unfolding the many stories of this property's past and cultural insights into the area. The staff were super friendly, Melisa greeted us with a historical walk around the grounds and welcome drink, everyone was very accommodating to our dog, and always with a smile. We stumbled upon the gardens and Louis (head gardener on the property for 30 years) gave us a private walk through them, allowing us to smell and learn about the abundance of herbs and vegetables cultivated at Hacienda Cusin. When the fireplaces on the property and in rooms are lit at 7pm, we were able to enjoy the comfy, warm ambiance while sipping a cocktail and chatting with friends. The breakfast was outstanding and plentiful to help us start the day. We were not able to have lunch or dinner on site and truly regret missing out! Hacienda Cusin was more than a place to stay for the evening, it was an experience that we will never forget. We are already planning to bring our parents in a few months and would hands down recommend this location to anyone looking for a memorable trip to Otavalo!
