Breakfast was designed to serve people from many locations and interests. Staff exceptional in service. I was surprised that the hotel took such care to protect the environment. People could enjoy the sounds, smells of the forest. And it didn’t feel like we interfered too much on the life of the communities.

Perched on top of a hill, this resort is surrounded by the tropical rainforests of Borneo. The room was excellent—spacious, comfortable, and complete with an en-suite that provided everything we needed. There were two restaurants to choose from, and we dined at both; each offered very good food. Breakfast was particularly impressive, with an awe-inspiring range of options and consistently outstanding service in both venues. The pool was very good, and we thoroughly enjoyed swimming each day. A scenic walk down the gorge sits right beside the hotel, adding an unexpected highlight to the location. Overall, the hotel is very well situated—within easy reach of the port and only a reasonable taxi ride from the airport—making it both convenient and enjoyable as a base for exploring the area.
