Kaname Inn Tatemachi is set in Kanazawa, 800 metres from Kenrokuen Garden and 1.1 km from Kanazawa Castle. One of the best hotels I've stayed at in Japan. Great price, wonderfully kind staff and an amazing bar. I'll definitely be back!

We loved the relaxing atmosphere and the classic music which was played in communal areas. The warm decor throughout the hotel was lovely and although it is a large hotel it felt cozy and welcoming. The staff were friendly and really helpful sorting out any query or issue we had. The size of the bedroom was brilliant very big for Japan with wonderful bathroom facilities and an amazing view of Kanazawa. The vegan breakfast in Benkay was a wonderful experience as well as beautiful food and excellent service which we will not forget. It was a really clean and comfortable hotel and a wonderful place to stay. The location was great also, close to Kanazawa station which has lots of lovely shops and places to eat. It is also very near bus connections for day excursions to world heritage sites Shirakawa-go or Gokayama. There are stunning night views from the sky bar which was not over priced and I understand has live music for guests some nights which I am sure would be wonderful.

Boasting a 200-year history, Motoyu Ishiya features classic architecture, an original Noh stage and a garden. Stunning location with unmatched hospitality. The staff was cheerful and extremely helpful and went out of the way to extend every help we needed, in spite of the language barrier. Looking forward to coming back again.

Murataya is 2 km from JR Kanazawa Train Station and a 10-minute walk from Kenroku-en Garden. The traditional Japanese accommodation offers a public bath and free Wi-Fi access. Great old school royokan. Perfect stay in Kanazawa!
