Featuring natural hot spring baths on site, Onyado Nono Nara Natural Hot Spring is set in Nara, just a 3-minute walk from JR Nara Station. Great to have ONSEN experience first time. The place has an old worldish charm- for us traveller's. We loved NARA. Onsen massage chair was a hit.

J-Hoppers Kumano Yunomine Guesthouse is situated in Hongu, a 10-minute drive away or a 70-minute walk on the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Route from Kumano Hongu Taisha Grand Shrine. We stayed there for one night while trekking the Kumano Kodo. Basically, everything was perfect for a one night stay after a long day of hiking. The capsules were spacious and quite private actually. The bento box provided for dinner was tasty. There are three private onsens that you can book. Yunomine Onsen itself is very lovely and you can easily continue your trek either on foot or by bus, as the bus stop is very close. Would definitely stay there again!

Waqoo Shitaderamachi is situated in Tennoji, in Osaka. The accommodation is 500 metres from popular areas such as Tsutenkaku and Shinsekai. We loved it! The building is very nice, out of the caos, yet walking distance from the beating heart of Osaka. The accomodation offers an authentic japanese vibe, we had a great time there!

Open from September 2017, The Celestine Kyoto Gion is set in Kyoto, a 10-minute walk from Gion-Shijo Station. Guests can walk to Kiyomizu-dera Temple in 15 minutes from the property. The stay exceeded all our expectations, the room was spacious, the beds comfy, the breakfast excellent, the location great. We enjoyed the baths, and the food, also the atmosphere of Gion! We love walking and did most sightseeing on foot from the hotel, some shrines are within few mins walk, for some you can find public transportation within 10min walk from the hotel.

The room was spacious and clean.

The Nara Visitor Center and Inn is situated in the heart of Nara, just a 3-minute walk from Kofuku-ji Temple and Naramachi. Staff was very kind and helpful, I was able to check in late in the evening with no problem. The bathhouse was nice. I took one of the triple japanese rooms for only one person, so I had a lot of space. Three people would've fit comfortably. THe inn is one block away from Tofuku-ji so you can start your visit of Nara there. WIll definitely stay again and would recommend!

Luck You Kyoto offers accommodation in Kyoto. Free luggage storage is available. The rooms are equipped with a flat-screen TV. The service is great. They offer Coffee and tea in the afternoon. The breakbast was limited but OK. The bathroom was clean. The beds were confortable. They offer a ticket to the onsen nearby which was excellent.

Situated a 10-minute walk from lively Kawaramachi area, Kyomachiya Ryokan Sakura Urushitei offers Japanese-style accommodation with modern facilities and traditional design. Great guesthouse, walking distance to lots of key sights. Lots of lovely touches and helpful staff.

Opening in March 2014, Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Shinmachi Bettei offers accommodations with a modern yet traditional décor. Excellent breakfast and as usual in Japan very helpful staff.

Offering free Wi-Fi and a spacious public bath, Ryokan Ryokufuso is located a 15-minute walk away from JR Kyoto Train Station. Good clean, elegant rooms. Great onsen. Good location for access to Kyoto's history and culture. Lovely helpful staff.
