Situated along Tanohara River and surrounded by tranquil nature in Kurokawa Onsen hot spring area, Oku no Yu Ryokan offers charming Japanese-style accommodation and various hot spring baths. Service was flawless, the food was perfect, and the baths were great. My room was good for my needs, it was quiet, and the waterfall and rivers outside was a great source of white noise. Highly recommend for a peaceful stay!

Located in the heart of the city, Hotel Nikko Kumamoto features accommodations with free wired internet access and views of Kumamoto Castle. Staffs are very nice. They went above and beyond to make our stay memorable.

The ryokan has been immaculately crafted to create a quiet enclave away from the hustle: quiet atmosphere (aside from the soft crackle of the small fire in the central shed), immersive nature elements of the plants/rocks/wooden structures, large outdoor onsen intimately surrounded by greenery. Staff are warmly welcoming despite our language barrier. Impressed at their proactive approach at offering to take photos, and asking our departure plans to arrange transport. Kaiseki dinner was top notch, with detailed attention to visuals as well as flavours. The overall environment also encourages other guests to be respectful as well

Ryokan Wakaba tarjoaa japanilaistyylistä majoitusta rauhallisella vuoristoalueella. Majoituspaikan tilavat kuumalähdekylvyt sisällä ja ulkona ovat vehreän luonnon ympäröimiä. Service was excellent, staff were very friendly and welcoming. Both dinner and breakfast were exceptionally delicious, wide variety of dishes and we were very full after both meals. Private onsen inside the room was spacious and clean. the room itself was generously large too. Out of all the ryokans I have stayed in Japan, this room was one of the largest. The ryokan is located just a 5 min walk to the main area where you can see the lanterns illuminate at night. Highly recommended!

Sanrinsha offers simple Western-style accommodations with free WiFi. Guests can relax at the garden terrace which features tables and chairs. The host was friendly, hospitable, helped us with a few things in the area, had information on restaurants and onsen, etc.

Only a 5-minute walk from the centre of Kurokawa hot-spring district, Kurokawa Onsen Ryokan Ichinoi offers Japanese-style accommodations with Japanese Yukata robes. The best hotel ever !! We loved our stay there. Amazing location, such a tasty food , so peaceful, clean and beautiful, we felt so special spending time there. We rented the private bath and also used the shared baths and it was amazing experience. I would recommend it to everyone. Magical place with super sweet stuff. It exceeded our expectations. We will definitely come back.

Boasting individual Japanese-style houses and maisonettes with a private open-air hot spring bath, Ryokan Kono-Yu is nestled in lush greenery in the peaceful Kurokawa hot spring area. We were blown away by this wonderful accommodation and staff. The team who looked after us were the warmest, most helpful people and the ryokan itself was simply stunning. Having our own private Onsen was amazing and the tatami room was very stylish . Dinner and breakfast were delicious too - we can’t wait to stay again in the future.
