Clean facilities, genuinely friendly staff, a lovely view, and a bed dressed in crisp, comforting linens. The hotel isn’t brand-new—it’s more like it’s been around long enough to learn good manners. And honestly, that quiet elegance is part of the charm.

Located in the centre of Kurokawa Onsen, Oyado Noshiyu offers outdoor and indoor hot-spring baths, Japanese-style accommodations and a traditional teahouse. A nice little gem in Kurokawa. From the moment I entered the premisses I was very impressed! It has a nice rustic feel to it with some modern twists. The open air onsen was very nice and after you are finished you can relax outside in your yukata while enjoying the beutiful garden in front of the reception. The staff is very friendly and service oriented. They spoke english well, so it was easy to communicate. Dinner and breakfast was great. We were able to pay using credit card which was much appreciated. I can easily recommend this hotel!

Boasting spacious indoor and outdoor hot spring baths surrounded by lush greenery, Ryokan Wakaba provides Japanese-style accommodation in the peaceful mountain area. Incredible stay at Ryokan Wakaba. The location is perfect and makes it super easy to hop between the different onsens in town. Both the male and female onsens at Wakaba were very large and had fantastic views of nature and the river. The meals included (dinner and breakfast) were both very very good and includes a lot of food, so definitely come very hungry (I definitely recommend adding the Horse Sashimi and the Steak to the dinner). The staff was very very nice and helpful. Our stay here was very magical and we are already dreaming of coming back again next year.

Boasting hot spring baths surrounded by beautiful gardens, Shinwaen provides charming Japanese-style accommodation, and lavish meals are served in guest rooms. Such a friendly owner. I have arrived earlier than planned, around 5 pm and she asked me if l want to have dinner and even prepared delicious kaiseki courses and breakfast the next day. I have never experienced such a flexibility before! The interior is beautiful and the bath in a stunning setting!

Only a 5-minute walk from the centre of Kurokawa hot-spring district, Kurokawa Onsen Ryokan Ichinoi offers Japanese-style accommodations with Japanese Yukata robes. Very comfy ryokan with very attentive staffs. Rooms are large, clean and the beds are comfortable. Food, both breakfast and dinner, were great. Truly enjoy our stay. Recommended.

Boasting individual Japanese-style houses and maisonettes with a private open-air hot spring bath, Ryokan Kono-Yu is nestled in lush greenery in the peaceful Kurokawa hot spring area. We were blown away by this wonderful accommodation and staff. The team who looked after us were the warmest, most helpful people and the ryokan itself was simply stunning. Having our own private Onsen was amazing and the tatami room was very stylish . Dinner and breakfast were delicious too - we can’t wait to stay again in the future.
