We loved everything about our stay. The food was great, the staff were super friendly and helpful, bedding was super comfy and the location was also very convenient. Our chosen room had a little balcony and our own private onsen - just wow! 10/10 experience and would definitely do it again!

Boasting spacious indoor and outdoor hot spring baths surrounded by lush greenery, Ryokan Wakaba provides Japanese-style accommodation in the peaceful mountain area. The staff are very kind and hospitable. The meals are delicious! I think I got a great value for my stay and will recommend Wakaba for future trips!

This was a great ryokan at a good price! We really enjoyed our stay here, and the staff was very helpful. We even got welcome beans at check in. We had a big room with tatami mats and futons, and a low table with chairs. The room also had a toilet and washing room, but you had to use the public or private onsen to shower. That was more than fine for us, as we really enjoyed the private onsen. There is no booking system, you can just use it when it is available.

Boasting individual Japanese-style houses and maisonettes with a private open-air hot spring bath, Ryokan Kono-Yu is nestled in lush greenery in the peaceful Kurokawa hot spring area. We were blown away by this wonderful accommodation and staff. The team who looked after us were the warmest, most helpful people and the ryokan itself was simply stunning. Having our own private Onsen was amazing and the tatami room was very stylish . Dinner and breakfast were delicious too - we can’t wait to stay again in the future.

I reserved a standard room with 2 beds and the hotel room was much bigger than I expected. The location is very convenient. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from Kumamoto Castle. The staff are very friendly too.
