Situated along Tanohara River and surrounded by tranquil nature in Kurokawa Onsen hot spring area, Oku no Yu Ryokan offers charming Japanese-style accommodation and various hot spring baths. Best Onsen Ryokan so far visiting Kurokawa for the 4th time, great choices of onsen at different hours. We also found the meals sizes more friendly and not over the portion like many other ryokans in the region, didn't need to feel bad not being able to finish all the food.

Located in the heart of the city, Hotel Nikko Kumamoto features accommodations with free wired internet access and views of Kumamoto Castle. There was nothing that we didn't like. We enjoyed everything. Great staff, location, and hotel. Location is perfect and easy to get to from the airport. It is also very close to Kumamoto Castle. My wife and I really loved our room and the morning breakfast buffet was fantastic. The staff was also very helpful and friendly. We visited during our anniversary and they upgraded our room with one of the best views of Kumamoto Castle.

Built in 1722, Okyakuya is situated in the historical district of Kurokawa Onsen district. Located only 100 metres from Kurokawa Onsen, Free WiFi is provided and private parking is available on site. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, our waitress for our dinner was very fun to converse with, along with everyone else we spoke with. The dinner was very well made, the facilities were beautiful, and our rooms were everything we could’ve asked for. The location is also excellent in the middle of everything, allowing for an easy walk around Kurokawa.

Located in the centre of Kurokawa Onsen, Oyado Noshiyu offers outdoor and indoor hot-spring baths, Japanese-style accommodations and a traditional teahouse. Wow, what an excellent place. It felt very special as soon as we walked in to the gates. The staff, room, onsen, and restaurant were all wonderful. We particularly liked the combination of public and private onsen and also the great bath that we had in the room. Despite our lack of Japanese we were made to feel very welcome and everything was well explained to us.

Boasting spacious indoor and outdoor hot spring baths surrounded by lush greenery, Ryokan Wakaba provides Japanese-style accommodation in the peaceful mountain area. Very good location and walkable to village & Restuarants. The staffs are super helpful and friendly. The dinner and breakfast are superb.

Boasting hot spring baths surrounded by beautiful gardens, Shinwaen provides charming Japanese-style accommodation, and lavish meals are served in guest rooms. This was a great ryokan at a good price! We really enjoyed our stay here, and the staff was very helpful. We even got welcome beans at check in. We had a big room with tatami mats and futons, and a low table with chairs. The room also had a toilet and washing room, but you had to use the public or private onsen to shower. That was more than fine for us, as we really enjoyed the private onsen. There is no booking system, you can just use it when it is available.

Only a 5-minute walk from the centre of Kurokawa hot-spring district, Kurokawa Onsen Ryokan Ichinoi offers Japanese-style accommodations with Japanese Yukata robes. Fantastic ryokan. Food was excellent, outdoor onsen was nice, the rooms were cozy. Location is peaceful, but close enough to the main part of Kurokawa Onsen to go for a walk.

Boasting individual Japanese-style houses and maisonettes with a private open-air hot spring bath, Ryokan Kono-Yu is nestled in lush greenery in the peaceful Kurokawa hot spring area. We were blown away by this wonderful accommodation and staff. The team who looked after us were the warmest, most helpful people and the ryokan itself was simply stunning. Having our own private Onsen was amazing and the tatami room was very stylish . Dinner and breakfast were delicious too - we can’t wait to stay again in the future.
