The staff was really nice and helpful, the room was clean and the bed comfortable. We also really enjoyed the breakfast: very tasty and super filling. Bonus point for the beautiful wooden bathtub, the nice yukata (I ended up buying it) and the very nice attention on my birthday! It was much appreciated! If I ever go back to Kyoto (and I hope I will), I'll definitely stay at this hotel again. In the meantime, I'll recommend it to everyone I know.

Newly opened in August 2016, Daiwa Roynet Hotel Kyoto Ekimae offers accommodations with free WiFi. The hotel is directly connected to JR Kyoto Station and a 4-minute walk away. Very new property. Good location. Fast Internet. Fantastic breakfast.

Hotel Kyomachiya Ryokan Sakura Urushitei se nachází 10 minut chůze od živé čtvrti Kawaramachi a nabízí moderní japonské ubytování. V přízemí je k dispozici přepážka s turistickými informacemi a bar. Ubytování se nám moc líbilo, pokoj byl čistý a hezký. Koupelna prostorná. Měli jsme i balkón. Spaní bylo pohodlné. Kousek od hotelu byla vlaková stanice, lékárna a obchody. Pokoj se pravidelně uklízel. Personal příjemný, vždy úsměv na tváři. Hotel byl v dobré lokalitě a byl zde klid. Hotel nabízel různé aktivity. Nemám co bych vytkla.

Offering free Wi-Fi and a spacious public bath, Ryokan Ryokufuso is located a 15-minute walk away from JR Kyoto Train Station. We really loved the ryokan. The rooms were beautiful and very comfortable, and it reflected traditional Japanese culture wonderfully. The staff were excellent — very kind and helpful. Despite some reviews mentioning noise, we had no issues at all; in fact, I would say it was quite peaceful. We also used the onsen and truly enjoyed it. Overall, it was a fantastic experience for us in every way, and we were very satisfied with our stay. The location of the hotel was a little bit away from the city center, but honestly, I didn’t mind at all. Kyoto is a small city, and we could easily get to all the places we wanted to visit. So if you’re staying at a ryokan like this, I think location doesn’t matter that much — unless you’re planning a very long stay, in which case you might want to consider it. For us, it was definitely not a problem.

Amazing traditional style ryokan. I love the interior, dinner was delicious and eventful, i love the sento, and I had the best sleep during our trip here! The futon was so warm!

Excellent hotel in a quiet area, a bit far from the center. The staff is very helpful. I will definitely be back.

Conveniently located a 5-minute walk from Hankyu Arashiyama Station, The GrandWest Arashiyama offers spacious accommodation in Kyoto. Everything about this hotel was amazing. The location is great, the rooftop relaxation area is perfect for unwinding, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. Our room was very big and spacious, the staff was incredibly friendly, and the free parking was a huge bonus. It’s also very kid-friendly, which made our stay even better.
