The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and spotless, beautifully designed with a mix of modern comfort and traditional Japanese style. Every detail felt thoughtful and elegant. The service was truly next level — the staff went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. They were warm, attentive, and made us feel completely at home. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kyoto — it’s a hidden gem that offers true Japanese hospitality.

Newly opened in August 2016, Daiwa Roynet Hotel Kyoto Ekimae offers accommodations with free WiFi. The hotel is directly connected to JR Kyoto Station and a 4-minute walk away. Very new property. Good location. Fast Internet. Fantastic breakfast.

Situated a 10-minute walk from lively Kawaramachi area, Kyomachiya Ryokan Sakura Urushitei offers Japanese-style accommodation with modern facilities and traditional design. The hotel staff were super helpful. The room was great, exactly as we have imagined it. It gave us the chance to experience a Ryokan. I definitely recommend it.

Opening in March 2014, Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Shinmachi Bettei offers accommodations with a modern yet traditional décor. I like their spa, it has CO2 in it which makes you feel like you’re sitting in a tub filled with coke. Quiet neighbourhood.

The hotel has easy access to the main train station which allowed us to do our day trips to Nara very easily. Excellent access to city Metro. Excellent underground shopping and restaurants. The room was very nice, clean, beds were comfy. Good breakfast. But the most impressive was the incredibly helpful staff. The staff helped us obtain tickets to the World Expo and went above and beyond helping us with that. EXCELLENT STAFF!!!!!!

Amazing experience that will remain with us for a long time. Exceptionally friendly staff that were always happy to help and answer our questions 🖤. The kaiseki experience was just fantastic, with amazing food.

Nestled in a quiet residential area, Kyoto Brighton Hotel is located in the heart of Kyoto, a 5-minute walk from Kyoto Imperial Palace. All guest rooms are non-smoking and soundproofed. The hotel itself is huge, very well kept and stylized. The staff were nice and spoke English well so it was easy as a foreigner. The room itself was large and extremely clean as the rest of the hotel. The bed was comfortable. The bath was large and very nice, they provide you with bath salts for a nice soak. There were a few different tea sets you could try, one of them being a matcha set. It was quiet, I couldn't hear my neighbors at all. I got a massage, the masseuse was very nice and professional, I felt relaxed. The food at the restaurants was very good as well, there were a few options for different cuisines and budgets. Overall a great experience and value for money. I came to relax and managed to do just that!
