It was our second time here, and everything was as perfect as I remembered it — exceptional food, warm service, the beautiful location next to a river and surrounded by mountains. If you are looking for some much-needed peace and quiet, this is very much worth the money.

Kannawaen is an entirely non-smoking accommodation that features a garden, terrace and bar in Beppu. 100 metres from Hells of Beppu, the property is also 500 metres away from Jigokumushikobo Kannawa. Lovely location. In room onsen was so awesome to have. Views from the balcony were exceptional, mountains, the city and the sea. The food was absolutely gourmet level and was a highlight for us. The staff were warm, friendly and helpful.

Best experience of our lives! The food was the best food we have ever eaten and the staff and service were superb! I can’t recommend this place highly enough. If you’re in Japan and want a truly authentic experience stay here.

Yufuin Ryokan Yamanami is gelegen in Yufu, op 48 km van Oita Bank Dome, en biedt accommodatie met een gedeelde lounge, gratis privéparkeren en een terras. Very remote from where the tourists are - I had a car so it was easy to access and easy to drive my big luggage up the hill. Ryokan was very spacious and had all the amenities needed (toiletries, hakata, slippers, extra bedding if needed), and the private onsen was perfect for a dip. Cleanliness was up to standards. Service from the staff was great. I had both dinner kaiseki and breakfast in the main building (only a short 1-2 min walk from my ryokan with private onsen) and it was delicious!
