Situated within 31 km of Ise Grand Shrine and 31 km of Oharai-machi, Tobi Hostel and Apartments offers rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Shima. A very nice room with a sea view (all rooms in the hotel have this!), super clean and big, a very lively and friendly owner who also speaks English! The hotel is a little bizarre, you feel like you're in a film!

Offering sea views, Ise-Shima Ohtaya Healing Stay is an accommodation situated in Toba, 700 metres from Chidorigahama Beach and 29 km from Ise Grand Shrine. I really like this place. The female owner has an inquisitive mind, a warm personality, and a kind heart. Her English is good enough to communicate and ask for help. The sauna and the private onsen in the room are top-notch. I did not check the public onsen with natural hot spring, but heard it's amazing too. I booked the 5th floor with an ocean view, and the private onsen experience during starry night and the set rise were indeed amazing! The hotel itself is located in a remote little cute fish town called osatsucho, where you can find fishmen and women harvesting and selling the Ise lobsters in the morning by the port. It was a very unique and interesting experience to stay in that little town for two days during the winter when it was not crowded at all. The nearest convenience store is 10 + miles away. It was a very natural, grounding, even retreat-like experience to me, and it was drastically different from my experience in Tokyo, Nayoga, or Osaka. I did spot a few demolished houses with broken windows in the town, not sure if it's because of COVID or during the winter when there were fewer tourists. The big plus is the Shinmei shrine next door to the hotel, which is a very calming and spiritual place to visit and stay for a bit too.

Located a 2-minute walk from Iseshi Train Station, Isegekusando Iseshinsen offers free Wi-Fi throughout the property and indoor/outdoor hot spring baths. Private roten buro-bath was exceptional. The room was huge. Self-service coffee bar was nice and food was more than we could eat.

Boasting spacious suites and views of Ago-wan Bay, Shima Kanko Hotel was the venue for the G7 Ise-Shima Summit 2016. The hotel is a 10-minute walk from Kashikojima Train Station. Dinner food was elegant and delicious! Local taste foods with Portuguese source was fancy!

Located in Shima, 23 km from Ise Grand Shrine, Miyako Resort Shima Bayside Terrace provides accommodation with a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a terrace. As a European, I love it. I was worried it might be tacky, cheap, kitsch and so on, but it's just a really lovely and stylish slice of Mediterranean. Grounds and facilities were impeccable thanks to recent renovations. Great food, great public bath, great staff. The breakfast was a delight. It's just about within walking distance of the Yokoyama trail area if you're up for a bit of hiking.

Situated in Toba, 80 metres from Shirahama Beach, TAOYA Shima features accommodation with a shared lounge, free private parking, a restaurant and a spa and wellness centre. Breakfast is correct in term of dishes proposed. The quality of the food is good but not exceptional. Quantity is OK as it is possible to go several times to the buffet The breakfast room is overlooking the bay and it is a nice way to start the day. Good location, nice view and, correct food make a satisfied customer...

Boasting 2 restaurants, a café and a bar, all with magnificent ocean views, Toba International Hotel is conveniently located just a 4-minute shuttle ride away from Toba Train Station. I first stayed at this property 15 years ago, so wanted to stay here again on my anniversary trip to Toba. This time, I took advantage of the hotel shuttle that picks guests up from the station and transports you up the hill to the hotel. Also, the first time I stayed here in 2011, I didn’t know about the neighboring ryokan run by the hotel that features a hot Spring hotel guests can use. There are two different hot springs that use Mikimoto pearl products that make your skin feel fantastic! And because it was winter, they were doing marshmallow toasting in the lobby. I love that the rooms have a table and chairs overlooking the bay, it’s a perfect spot to unwind with a glass of wine or sake at the end of the day. Breakfast buffet had ample selections, although some of the items weren’t hot (this was towards the end of the service). Outstanding customer service.
