A very nice room with a sea view (all rooms in the hotel have this!), super clean and big, a very lively and friendly owner who also speaks English! The hotel is a little bizarre, you feel like you're in a film!

Renovated in 2016, Shima Kanko Hotel The Classic was the venue for G7 Ise-Shima Summit 2016. The hotel is located in Ise-Shima National Park and overlooks Ago Bay on the renowned Rias coast. From the moment you enter the lobby, you know you’re somewhere grand. The reception from the staff is top notch. The lobby is beautiful with stunning floral displays. The staff are incredibly polite and helpful. Always smiling even when they’re working very hard, and they do a lot of that. Our room, 536, was a corner room with incredible views out two sides.The breakfast buffet, even for a strict vegetarian, was delicious. The lounge on the second floor had completely beverages and snacks, both sweet and savoury, all day long. Excellent bonus. You are also permitted to use their other hotel lounge which is a few minute walk away, on the fifth floor, with stunning 360 degree views.

Ise-Shima Ohtaya Healing Stay encontra-se em Toba, a 8 minutos a pé de Chidorigahama Beach e a 29 km de Santuário de Ise. I really like this place. The female owner has an inquisitive mind, a warm personality, and a kind heart. Her English is good enough to communicate and ask for help. The sauna and the private onsen in the room are top-notch. I did not check the public onsen with natural hot spring, but heard it's amazing too. I booked the 5th floor with an ocean view, and the private onsen experience during starry night and the set rise were indeed amazing! The hotel itself is located in a remote little cute fish town called osatsucho, where you can find fishmen and women harvesting and selling the Ise lobsters in the morning by the port. It was a very unique and interesting experience to stay in that little town for two days during the winter when it was not crowded at all. The nearest convenience store is 10 + miles away. It was a very natural, grounding, even retreat-like experience to me, and it was drastically different from my experience in Tokyo, Nayoga, or Osaka. I did spot a few demolished houses with broken windows in the town, not sure if it's because of COVID or during the winter when there were fewer tourists. The big plus is the Shinmei shrine next door to the hotel, which is a very calming and spiritual place to visit and stay for a bit too.

Private roten buro-bath was exceptional. The room was huge. Self-service coffee bar was nice and food was more than we could eat.

Featuring a bar, Kochoran offers rooms in Toba, 1.6 km from Mikimoto Pearl Island. With free WiFi, this 3-star ryokan offers free shuttle service. To start off, if you arrive at Toba Train Station between 1430-1800, they provide free shuttle service to the hotel, which otherwise would be a 20 minute walk. Look for their name beside their car. The staff were friendly to a fault and even if they can't keep up with English, they'd do anything to help you. The place is old, that's what you get for looking for an onsen ryokan but it's well maintained and the cuisine offered was faultless.

The views from the room are amazing and I love the sound of the sea. The room is spacious and I love the tatami area. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Miyako Resort Shima Bayside Terrace localiza-se em Shima, a 23 km de Santuário de Ise, e fornece acomodações com uma piscina exterior sazonal, estacionamento privado gratuito, um jardim e um terraço. As a European, I love it. I was worried it might be tacky, cheap, kitsch and so on, but it's just a really lovely and stylish slice of Mediterranean. Grounds and facilities were impeccable thanks to recent renovations. Great food, great public bath, great staff. The breakfast was a delight. It's just about within walking distance of the Yokoyama trail area if you're up for a bit of hiking.
