Location was excellent also...could walk to most of the attractions we wanted to visit (old ginza street, Karuizawa Shopping Plaza, and other places. The standout though was as mentioned earlier, the staff. Top notch hotel and I will definitely be staying there the next time I am in that town!

Set in Chino, ノマの森 Nomanomori B&B offers free WiFi, and guests can enjoy a garden, a terrace and a bar. The hosts are kind and thoughtful and gave us very good advice for dinner locally and for our next destination. Best of all, the breakfast was delicious and kept us going all day. Our room was small, but we knew that when we booked so we were not bothered by that in any way. Aovely way to break up the trip from Tokyo to Kamikochi if you have a car and it is worth a visit just for the sake of being there.

Opened in August 2012, B&B Hotel Hyochoan offers simple Western-style accommodations. Free in-room WiFi is available and guests can enjoy bird watching from the property’s terrace. The room is very clean and comfortable. The hosts are very nice and helpful. Breakfast is the best!

Oshi Ryokan is located in Nagano, 20 km from Zenkoji Temple, 22 km from Nagano Station, as well as 32 km from Suzaka City Zoo. Nice and traditional place, the big family room was spacious and comfortable. The dinner and breakfast were fabulous. Hosts are great: really kind and nice.

At Daymaruya Ryokan, guests can enjoy hot-spring baths and traditional Japanese-style accommodations with free wired internet access. Very very kind hosts. Pick up from train station and shuttle to snow monkey park were super. Extra kindness when we needed favors. Super helpful that they also allow takkyubin delivery. Breakfast were nice and traditional. Really enjoyed the private onsen. Nice spacious traditional room with very clean toilet.
