Surrounded by lush greenery, Mampei Hotel offers free WiFi and free on-site private parking. JR Karuizawa Station is a 10-minute drive from this non-smoking accommodation. We had a wonderful stay at Mampei Hotel, a beautiful hotel with a long and rich history. The staff were exceptionally helpful, especially Mr. Komiyama (if I got his name right), who went out of his way to assist us. The atmosphere was warm and peaceful, and it was special to stay at a place once frequented by John Lennon. Our room was elegant and comfortable, with a private onsen bath, and breakfast was thoughtfully prepared to accommodate our dietary restrictions. The scenic drive in and proximity to the old Ginza street added to the charm. A truly memorable and happy experience.

Offering a barbecue and ski storage space, AIBIYA is located in Yamanouchi in the Nagano Region, 4.1 km from Jigokudani Monkey Park. Room was big enough and clean, same situation with bathrooms. But, what is most important at this place is an extraordinary hospitality! Seongmi and Yoshi are amazing hosts. I was feel like home here :)

Located in Matsumoto in the Nagano region with Mt.Norikura Ski Resort nearby, Raicho Onsen Inn provides accommodation with free private parking, as well as access to a hot spring bath. It's simply a great spot if you like outdoor recreation. Good beds, 3 private onsens that you can reserve every day, kitchen with everything you need and plenty of space for working, reading, chilling, and socializing. Hard to imagine a better base for enjoying the surrounding mountains.

Located in Karuizawa, Kyukaruizawa Kikyo, Curio Collection by Hilton is situated a 6-minute walk from Kyu Karuizawa Ginza Dori shopping street. Free transfers to Karuizawa Station

Set in Chino, ノマの森 Nomanomori B&B offers free WiFi, and guests can enjoy a garden, a terrace and a bar. The hosts are kind and thoughtful and gave us very good advice for dinner locally and for our next destination. Best of all, the breakfast was delicious and kept us going all day. Our room was small, but we knew that when we booked so we were not bothered by that in any way. Aovely way to break up the trip from Tokyo to Kamikochi if you have a car and it is worth a visit just for the sake of being there.

Opened in August 2012, B&B Hotel Hyochoan offers simple Western-style accommodations. Free in-room WiFi is available and guests can enjoy bird watching from the property’s terrace. Everything! The hosts exceeded our expectations in many aspects, their hospitality was more than impeccable. The room was modern and fresh with very comfortable beds. Bathroom had a bathtub and there was Apple TV in the room. And of course full Japanese breakfast with more dishes you could count - absolutely an experience in itself! It was one of the best lodging experiences I have ever had and I don't say this lightly.

Oshi Ryokan is located in Nagano, 20 km from Zenkoji Temple, 22 km from Nagano Station, as well as 32 km from Suzaka City Zoo. Amazing. Lovely owners. They treat you like a real guest. So loving and caring. Very good food, made with love and care. I'll miss that beautiful place forever.

At Daymaruya Ryokan, guests can enjoy hot-spring baths and traditional Japanese-style accommodations with free wired internet access. Omistajapari oli todella ystävällinen ja avulias! He jopa veivät Jigokudanin puistoon autolla. Majapaikan sijainti oli täydellinen, se oli onsen-kujan varrella. Myös etäisyys Jigokudanin puistosta oli hyvä.

Located in the Shibu hot-spring district, guests can enjoy indoor and outdoor hot-spring baths at Suminoyu. Massages can be requested and a footbath is also available for extra relaxation. The staff is lovely, the service excellent, and the food delicious. We went off-season so it was very quiet and peaceful to stroll around the little town and visit the public onsen with the yukata and shoes provided by the ryokan. The best one was the bath in the hotel though. They also offer a free shuttle service for the station and monkey park as well. We felt pampered and well taken care of at all times.
