Surrounded by lush greenery, Mampei Hotel offers free WiFi and free on-site private parking. JR Karuizawa Station is a 10-minute drive from this non-smoking accommodation. All the staff was very friendly and welcoming. They always offered help whenever needed.

Offering a barbecue and ski storage space, AIBIYA is located in Yamanouchi in the Nagano Region, 4.1 km from Jigokudani Monkey Park. The staff was very nice and we had very interesting conversations. They give very good advice on the area and the Onsen. The place is spotless clean, beautiful and very quiet and comfortable. For a fee, you have access to Onsen in neighboring hotels. The town of Yudanaka is also very nice. The hotel is very close to the train station. From there, you can take a bus to the Snow Monkey Park. Convenience store, bars and restaurants are all walking distance too. If you need to do laundry, be aware that you have to start it before 8pm (might be good to know if you're traveling around and didn't have time to do it before).

Everything was great. The staff were all extremely nice, the room was huge and comfortable. The location is 3 minutes walk away from a bus station, about 15 minutes from the central station and 10ish minutes from the other side of town.

Located in Matsumoto in the Nagano region with Mt.Norikura Ski Resort nearby, Raicho Onsen Inn provides accommodation with free private parking, as well as access to a hot spring bath. There’s simply no words good enough to describe a little hidden gem like Raicho. Everything was perfect here. All the staffs speak perfect English and they would drive you from the bus station or to the dinner place whenever they are available. In Winter they are the only party that operates kamikochi tours which on a sunny day is a once in a life time experience. The outdoor onsen is amazing in the snow (dont get scared off from the cold). The fireplace is beyond amazing and all the people staying there are friendly, dormitory are surprisingly quiet at night and the beds are so comfy and warm. It almost felt like we were in Switzerland or something. Ten of of ten experience.

Located in Karuizawa, Kyukaruizawa Kikyo, Curio Collection by Hilton is situated a 6-minute walk from Kyu Karuizawa Ginza Dori shopping street. The service was excellent and the staff went out of their way to assist us and make our stay as comfortable as possible. Despite being an upmarket hotel, they were still very accommodating and welcoming of our toddler and there were extra amenities for her which were appreciated. The hotel is situated in the older part of Karuizawa and is within walking distance of many beautiful attractions and restaurants/cafes. The breakfast is also excellent.

Set in Chino, ノマの森 Nomanomori B&B offers free WiFi, and guests can enjoy a garden, a terrace and a bar. The hosts are kind and thoughtful and gave us very good advice for dinner locally and for our next destination. Best of all, the breakfast was delicious and kept us going all day. Our room was small, but we knew that when we booked so we were not bothered by that in any way. Aovely way to break up the trip from Tokyo to Kamikochi if you have a car and it is worth a visit just for the sake of being there.

Opened in August 2012, B&B Hotel Hyochoan offers simple Western-style accommodations. Free in-room WiFi is available and guests can enjoy bird watching from the property’s terrace. The hosts went above and beyond in every aspect to take care of my parents during their stay. It was very helpful having the pick up and drop off service from the train station since they weren't confident navigating by themselves.

Oshi Ryokan is located in Nagano, 20 km from Zenkoji Temple, 22 km from Nagano Station, as well as 32 km from Suzaka City Zoo. Exceptional accomodation offering comfort and exquisite cuisine right next to Togakushi Houkosha Shrine. The Hostess greeted us and gave us a tour of the expansive ryokan. Our tatami room was wide with a beautiful view of the yard. Our sumptuous dinner was beautifully presented in a dining room, there were 5 exquisite courses from fresh and delicious ingredients. Breakfast was wonderful as well. We had a wonderful and restful sleep on the tatami as rain drizzled throughout the night. The hostess gave us an early farewell as she had to attend a hospital appointment for her husband’s diagnosis. We wish her and her family well, and appreciation for their wonderful hospitality and exceptional meals. Highly recommended stay in Togakushi!

At Daymaruya Ryokan, guests can enjoy hot-spring baths and traditional Japanese-style accommodations with free wired internet access. We stayed at Daymaruya Ryokan for one night and had a wonderful time! The owner of the Ryokan picked us up from the railway station, drove us to the snowmonkey park and was extremly nice! We were able to communicate with both owners in English, got keys for the onsen in the town and even our own Yukata to wear at the onsen! We reallly enjoyed to experience a tradtional Japan and spending time in your beautiful Ryokan. Thank you so much!

Located in the Shibu hot-spring district, guests can enjoy indoor and outdoor hot-spring baths at Suminoyu. Massages can be requested and a footbath is also available for extra relaxation. Incredible service! The staff really makes a difference with their detailed service, and thoughtful touches. Their onsen was great, and the room huge with a private toilet, bathroom, and bar area.
