Offering a barbecue and ski storage space, AIBIYA is located in Yamanouchi in the Nagano Region, 4.1 km from Jigokudani Monkey Park. I can't begin to describe how good my stay was here. The accommodations were amazing. The room was warm and cozy. The building was beautiful and looked new and clean but, had the charm of an old traditional Japanese home. I came to snowboard and they had a room to store and dry all my wet gear. They were able to handle shipping my snowboard to and from the airport with Yamato transport. There is a direct bus to and from Shiga Kogen every day as well. There is not an onsen on site but, you can buy tickets to various local onsens, all of which were spectacular. All onsens had an indoor and outdoor bath. Breakfast was served every morning and, it was great to eat and chat with other travelers. Truly, the best part about staying here was the owners themselves. Yoshi and Seong-mi were two of the kindest, most friendly people I've encountered on any of my trips across the world. They made my experience feel like I was staying with my brother and sister. In fact, the whole town of Yudanaka felt like home to me and, I know this is a place I will never forget for the rest of my life.

Located in Karuizawa, Kyukaruizawa Kikyo, Curio Collection by Hilton is situated a 6-minute walk from Kyu Karuizawa Ginza Dori shopping street. helpful and friendly staff. Breakfast was very well-prepared in term of the quality and the presentations , also very delicious. The shuttle service is above my expectations.

The hosts are kind and thoughtful and gave us very good advice for dinner locally and for our next destination. Best of all, the breakfast was delicious and kept us going all day. Our room was small, but we knew that when we booked so we were not bothered by that in any way. Aovely way to break up the trip from Tokyo to Kamikochi if you have a car and it is worth a visit just for the sake of being there.

Opened in August 2012, B&B Hotel Hyochoan offers simple Western-style accommodations. Free in-room WiFi is available and guests can enjoy bird watching from the property’s terrace. Our hosts were a lovely couple who took the time to make us feel extremely welcome. The care and attention to detail were beyond anything we have experienced previously. The Japanese breakfast was exquisitely presented. The building was beautiful, and the surround gardens were tranquil with lots of bird sounds. We will definitely choose to stay here again.

Exceptional accomodation offering comfort and exquisite cuisine right next to Togakushi Houkosha Shrine. The Hostess greeted us and gave us a tour of the expansive ryokan. Our tatami room was wide with a beautiful view of the yard. Our sumptuous dinner was beautifully presented in a dining room, there were 5 exquisite courses from fresh and delicious ingredients. Breakfast was wonderful as well. We had a wonderful and restful sleep on the tatami as rain drizzled throughout the night. The hostess gave us an early farewell as she had to attend a hospital appointment for her husband’s diagnosis. We wish her and her family well, and appreciation for their wonderful hospitality and exceptional meals. Highly recommended stay in Togakushi!

At Daymaruya Ryokan, guests can enjoy hot-spring baths and traditional Japanese-style accommodations with free wired internet access. The owner is really nice. He picked us up to the hotel and back to the train station on check in/out days. Moreover, he drove us to the snow monkey park. The hotel has the onsen key that allows you to experience the 9 local onsen for free!!
