Offering a garden and inner courtyard view, Inase Otsu Machiya Bed and Breakfast is situated in Otsu, 10 km from Daigo-ji Temple and 11 km from Shoren-in Temple. Very comfy home, there's a lot of temples in Otsu, so it was nice to be able to visit them, however things do close early because it's a smaller town. The breakfast and staff were amazing :)

Boasting a hot spring bath, Dantokan Kikunoya is located a 5-minute drive from JR Ogoto Onsen Station. Free pick-up from the station is available upon advance request. The staff here are incredible. They went above and beyond to help us celebrate our honeymoon. I was so grateful for how hard they all worked and how kind they all were. We also got the breakfast service in our room, which was excellent, and they provided several drinks in the fridge for us for free. They shuttled us from the station and back to it, and we were even sent off by the staff at the end of our stay. So friendly and welcoming. Also, our deluxe suite had the private open air bath, and I can't recommend that enough. It was so relaxing and incredible. Lastly, I personally loved the toiletries and additional things that came with the room (shampoo, straightener, beverages, yukata, pajamas, etc.)

Situated on the shores of Lake Biwa, Lake Biwa Otsu Prince Hotel offers rooms with lake views, 7 restaurants and an outdoor pool. Lake cruises are available in front of the hotel. The property is at an amazing area, with right access to Lake Biwa. Hotel is well maintained and provide shuttle service to and from the station making it convenient for the travelers with luggage specifically. Our view from 22nd floor was spectacular. The hotel is also few meters away from supermarket allowing to grab quick snacks and bytes if required. Overall, 10/10

Located in Hikone, near Hikone Castle, Kiyotaki Ryokan is a historic ryokan that features a garden. The property is non-smoking and is set 8 km from Taga-taisha Shrine. I absolutely loved my stay at Hikone and Kiyotaki ryokan. The room I stayed in was spacious and smelled of tatami, the bath was newly and renovated and comfortable, there was a small table in room along with a kettle and a teapot set perfect for a cup of tea in the morning. This was both one of my favorite stays in Japan so far as well as one of the cheaper ones. The owner of this ryokan is super friendly well. He gave me tips on what to see as well as a map of local cafes and restaurants and other tourist attractions which he himself helped make. Overall the stay was super friendly and I hope to come back in the future and even book the dinner this time.

Offering an outdoor pool, indoor/outdoor hot spring baths and 6 restaurants and bars, Biwako Hotel is located a 5-minute walk from Keihan Hamaotsu Train Station. Absolutely satisfied with the hotel in terms of the location, the cleanliness, the comfort, the room view, the interior design, as well as their dinner and breakfast. Our rooms had a great view of Lake Biwa and we took a wonderful stroll along the lakeside in the morning. We had breakfast and dinner in the hotel. They had a wide variety of tasty food there while a number of other restaurants and cafes were within walking distance as well.

Only a 1-minute walk from JR Kusatsu Station and a 20-minute train ride from Kyoto Station, Hotel Boston Plaza features a restaurant with Western food, a cafe-bar, and bright rooms with free wired... Kindness and cleaning and as well room size

Featuring a private beach in front of the hotel, Grand Park Hotel Okubiwako Makino provides cosy guestrooms fitted with natural colours and wooden walls. It is a 2-minute drive from JR Makino Station.... Great room, nice to take a walk and cycle by the lake
