In 2025, it feels like all major hotel chains charge you upfront, offer empty minibars, and lack any real liveliness. But Select Hotel was a refreshing exception. The minibar was fully stocked, they have a great sweet shop you can charge to your room, and the parking was excellent. Most importantly, the hotel actually feels alive—unlike the big chain brands.

The room was huge and clean, a little noisy because the hotel is next to the road and also the road lights were on the entire night, but there are thick curtains on the windows and you can close the windows so it’s all good. The air conditioning in the room works well. We ate an omelette for breakfast and asked for no bacon - our request was fulfilled and the omelette was tasty !
