Part of the Greater Kruger area, Kapama River Lodge is situated in the expansive 15 000 hectare Kapama Private Game Reserve. Kapama river lodge was conveniently located next to Hoedspruit airport which made for easy transfer. The property is stunning and their staff was very friendly. The spa was incredible & would highly recommend. My husband had the African massage + pedicure and said that Mandisa was the best masseuse he’s ever had. The game drives were great. You do 2 a day, one at 6AM & the other at 4PM. Milton & Collin were exceptional & were able to check all of our bucket list items off. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay.

Phelwana Game Lodge is located in the Hoedspruit area and 47 km away from Kruger Park's Orpen Gate. The lodge offers luxury tents and well-appointed chalets with private pool. I simply loved everything… if I tell you that I was actually depressed to leave to go to the second lodge we booked, would you believe this? - the room was really impeccable, this was my favorite part. We stayed at the Harrier luxury tent. The “lake” goes behind the tent so you can hear all the frogs and animals etc. it’s really amazing. The outdoor shower was crazy good. The room is soooo quiet otherwise. You don’t hear NOTHING except a bunch of different animals. We even heard leopard sounds and a giraffe in the morning. It’s really that amazing. - let me tell you I’m super picky with bedding and sheets and comfort of the bed and I was like AMAZED by how good the bed was. The sheets were high quality… was great 10/10 - the lodge is small so you get really individualized attention, which some might like some might not - they have lots of animals pretty much all the main ones minus lions and rhinos I think. The leopard and hiena are more rare but we did see them in the property so it was SOOO worth it. Flora the guide was super cool and we did an extra drive with her at ngiht to look for the leopard. This for me MADE THE TRIP. Because I felt like I was close to the people working there and we could talk and adjust and be flexible with the stuff. This was a big plus, since I don’t like these SUPER structured commercial lodges (we saw some like that…)

Situated in Hoedspruit, Nyaleti Lodge is 70 km from the Orpen Gate and 79 km from the Phalaborwa Gate of Kruger National Park. Ann and Marlon were really great hosts! They cared about our trips and tried to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The breakfast was delicious and they attended to our wishes for activities. All the staff were very ambitious and nice. The lodge is on the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate and you are able to see all kinds of animals even in front of your door. You are allowed to take Bush walks in the territory and if you get lucky you'll find a leopard or some hyena (we didn't).

Summerset Place Country House is set against the foot of the Waterberg and adjacent to a private game reserve. Definitely a great location. Staff members were so kind and helpful all throughout. Had a great time overall. So quiet and peaceful. Would definitely go back forsure.

Vuyani Safari Lodge is set in the Moditlo Private Game Reserve, neighbouring the famous Kruger National Park. A free road transfer from the Hoedspruit airport is available to guests. All Vuyani’s team are so welcoming! The food and installation are really good! I only have good things to talk about our staying! I’ll recommend to all my friends!

Exceptional choice for travellers. Great cozy room and common areas. Amazing staff. Safe and comfortable. Highly recommended dinner on-site — finger-licking good.
