As someone who's never been to an Onsen or a Ryokan, it was a one of a kind experience you could not get elsewhere. The staffs were incredibly friendly and very accommodating throughout our stay - they even helped to cater to our dietary requirements for our included breakfast. After check-in, a staff gave us a tour of the entire Inn and the Onsens, as well as our room, and gave us a leaflet with information of everything we'd need. The 2 public Onsens and the private Onsens they have were beautiful, and even had a web app you could conveniently use to check if they were vacant or busy. The breakfast was amazing, and the surrounding area was beautiful and had plenty of souvenir shops and eateries with amazing food. The location was also super near to the local bus terminal and train station, and you could easily get to/from them and these shops by walking. Should you need transportation to get to/from the Ryokan, they also provide free shuttle during certain hours you could easily request for by calling them up. To those coming here from Osaka, the easiest route I found was to get to the Hankyu Bus Terminal just outside of the Osaka Station and to get bus tickets to Arima Onsen which costed me 1,400 JPY - the bus journey itself took about ~45 mins-1 hour. All in all, I highly recommend anyone wishing for this Ryokan/Onsen experience to stay here.

the oldest ryokan in arima onsen that’s very well preserved & kept clean, with friendly & hospitable staff. located about 10 mins (slightly uphill) walk from station (they offer pickup from station) & next to the arima street with many small shops & cafes. they provide yukata & socks which are comfortable to wear. there is indoor pool & outdoor kinsen, the unique golden hot spring. oh, and not forgetting lovely delicious dinner & breakfast too. there is also a reading place on 4th floor with popup story books, a must see corner!

This was one of the most amazing and wonderful experiences I had. The staff were extremely friendly and made me feel at home at all times. I got a good price and, getting a ryokan for solo travelers is really difficult, yet I found this fantastic place. After booking I got a nice and warm message from staff asking me some things regarding my stay, also they let me know they could pick me up at the station. When arriving to Arima Onsen, the shuttle was really quick to come. As soon as you arrive they make you feel welcome. Food was exquisite, and the experience delightful. The onsen was splendid and relaxing, and the futon bed was really comfortable. Also they provide a nice Yukata to make the experience even better. I highly recommend this ryokan and I hope I can come back in a near future.

Beautiful hotel tucked in the valley, close to town but far enough away to be peaceful. I’m an American and can only speak a little Japanese, but the staff was great and I had no problem communicating. Went on a few hikes close by and it was great to return and have a hot bath and sauna!

The ryokan is small, it has only a few rooms, so you can feel private there. The food was beyond great, tasty and the portions were large. The onsen was clean, with a great outdoor pool. Since the hotel is small, you had complete privacy in the onsen. The service was top notch. The ladies took care of us like their own members of the family. I recommend this place.

The outdoor private onsens were amazing. Booking them was easy and there was always availability. It's really not necessary to get the in-room onsen. The yukata and japanese pj's which were provided were also great quality. I now regret not buying some :) There are some great hiking trails and a hilltop shrine near the hotel, which are very quiet and secluded.

Our first stay in Japanese ryokan was a great expirience. Wood, tatami, futons, japanese garden, free yukatas, beautiful pottery made by famous Kyoto artist. Separated large bathtub and shower. Free tickets to Gin and Kin onsens! Arima is a very beautiful place!

Gorgeous ryokan with good onsens. It was my first traditional Japanese hotel and onsen, so I was very impressed by hospitality, kaiseki dinner, the view, the room with tatami, yukata and hot springs. Totally recommend it!
