Peacefully situated on the shore of Lake Kawaguchi in the scenic Mount Fuji area, Japanese-style hot spring hotel Kasuitei Ooya features rooms with stunning lake views, some boasting a private... Amazing Onsen with very good water quality. Food outstanding and portions are plentiful. The staff is just amazing. We loved everything about this place!

Boasting views of Mount Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi for all rooms and hot-spring baths, Hotel Asafuji provides air-conditioned Japanese-style rooms with a green tea set. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful. Although we arrived with a delay they were still able to swiftly arrange our transfer, prepare our room and our meal as well.

Just 250 metres from Zenko-ji Temple, Matsuya Ryokan offers simple Japanese rooms with tatami-mat floors, a green-tea maker and an attached Western bathroom. The hotel features public baths. Out of the six different accommodations that my partner and I stayed at during our trip to Japan, this Ryokan had to be our absolute favourite stay (and we would 100% return). When we arrived, we were greeted warmly by the friendly staff who showed us where our room, breakfast and public bathing facilities were located (although we didn't end up using the baths), and gave us the option for what time we would like our breakfast to be served the following morning (we opted in for breakfast, but decided not to choose dinner as part of our stay). ROOMS: The rooms were clean and traditional with comfortable futon beds and air conditioning which made for a comfortable stay as it started becoming cooler outside. A lovely tea set with sweets was laid out in the room upon our arrival which made for a nice welcome treat. The bathroom was by far the most spacious out of all of our stays and was incredibly modern despite the rest of the accommodation being traditional. BREAKFAST: We opted for a 7:00AM breakfast on our first day to give us ample time to head to Nagano Station for our day trip to Togakushi which worked out very well. We opted in for a later breakfast the following day. The meal was delicious, satisfying and had many small dishes which was wonderful for starting the day off with a variety of food groups. The breakfast staff provided incredible hospitality and our rooms were tidied up for the day while we were eating. It was absolutely worth the extra cost and our breakfast on day 1 versus day 2 were different in terms of the dishes served which was a nice surprise. LOCATION: The location of this Ryokan was unreal! It's positioned amongst Zenkōji Nakamise Street, a street filled with stores and food spots leading up to Zenkōji Temple which is literally 3 minutes away by foot. It is such a surreal and gorgeous location to stay, and we were able to explore the temple grounds early in the morning and late at night when there was almost no one else around.

Ryokan Asunaro: A Traditional Japanese Inn in Takayama. Nestled just a 6-minute walk from Takayama Station and the Nohi Bus Center, Ryokan Asunaro offers an authentic Japanese inn experience. El millor lloc on m’he allojat mai. El preu es mes alt del que em solc gastar però val la pena 100%. Tot està cuidat al mínim detall. Moltes amenities, personal fantastic, el lloc es preciós… ens van deixar una yukata i fins i tot tenen una estanteria al passadís amb coxins extra per si en vols un altre.

L'Oyado Koto No Yume es troba a 2 minuts a peu de l'estació de Takayama i ofereix habitacions d'estil japonès amb un toc de color. Aquest ryokan, ens va proporcionar una entranyable experiència d'allotjament tradicional, amb una espaiosa habitació de tatami, ús de yukata que et proporcionava l'allotament, i també de kimonos. El personal molt amable i atent.

Luxurious ryokan Fuji Onsenji Yumedono is located just 500 metres from Lake Kawaguchiko. Our stay at Fuji Onsenji Yumedono was the highlight of what was already an amazing two week holiday in Japan. We stayed in the Miyabi room and it was phenomenal - the traditional aesthetic combined with every amenity you could need. The private onsen was amazing, the Japanese breakfast a wonderful experience. Finally, the staff were courteous, polite and had great recommendations for restaurants and things to see. We could not recommend this property enough.
