Fabulous room: private outdoor onsen, huge bath tube and a separate balcony. Big TV set with huge couch to sit on. Outstanding breakfast. Extremely attentive and supportive staff. All services — at a top notch. Great choice for a few days relax from Tokyo hype.

I Shirakawa-go, 45 kilometer fra Hida Minzoku Mura landsbymuseum, ligger Onyado Yuinosho, Shirakawago, som har en fellesstue, gratis privat parkering, en restaurant og en bar. Experiencing a Ryokan was amazing and Onyado Yuinosho is the perfect place for it, the staff is incredibly nice and accomodating, the food is incredible, the rooms and facilities are so fancy and pretty and atmosphere is so relaxed and cozy! They give you all sorts of amenities, they have free ramen at night, coffee, yogurt drinks and they even leave local candy to try inside the room! They also have vending machines for soft drinks/coffee/tea and alcohol! The meals they serve are extremely tasty and fancy with beautiful window views of the mountains! The private onsen rooms are beatiful and relaxing! The two nights we spent there were the highlight of our trip! Absolutely must recommend this place if you plan to visit Shirakawa-go!

Featuring great views of Mount Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi, Konanso boasts natural hot spring baths and large Japanese-style rooms with traditional tatami (woven-straw) flooring. Great place. Staff could speak English with no problems which was great for an international traveller. We had a beautiful view of the lake and regretted that we stayed only for one night. Very good Kaiseki dinner served in your room. The room even had a private sauna. Will definitely come back.

Just 250 metres from Zenko-ji Temple, Matsuya Ryokan offers simple Japanese rooms with tatami-mat floors, a green-tea maker and an attached Western bathroom. The hotel features public baths. It is beautiful. Close to the temple, such a lovely area. The traditional feel was so neat, and it snowed! What a treat. The Onsen was lovely. Our beds were futon, which were fine for us. If you are going to the snow monkeys - check the weather and wear appropriate clothing. Boots in the winter, hiking style clothes are needed. Unless you are used to hiking, I wouldn’t take young children in the winter.

Ryokan Asunaro: A Traditional Japanese Inn in Takayama. Nestled just a 6-minute walk from Takayama Station and the Nohi Bus Center, Ryokan Asunaro offers an authentic Japanese inn experience. The room was very spacious, the breakfast delicious, the onsen beautiful and the staff very welcoming! Loved it here!

Oyado Koto No Yume ligger bare 2 minutters gange fra Takayama stasjon og har rom i japansk stil med fargerike innslag, termalbad, en restaurant og gratis Wi-Fi overalt. The hosts did a lot to accommodate us and gave a very good service. We received some tea on arrival and some nice gifts upon departure and during our stay we could taste local sake and plum wine.

Luxurious ryokan Fuji Onsenji Yumedono is located just 500 metres from Lake Kawaguchiko. We went on our honeymoon for 1 night - it would be more! All of our expectations were exceeded. The room (we stayed in one of the villas) was impeccable, the service was perfect, and the food was wonderful — the kaiseki dinner is absolutely worth it, and the breakfast is very good as well. A truly memorable experience!
