Only a 5-minute drive from Miyajima Ferry Port with its free shuttle, beautiful ocean views can be enjoyed from Miyajima Seaside Hotel. This hotel is a great budget option for a ryokan experience! I paid much less than what is quoted at other places but it definitely felt like a luxury experience. The traditional Japanese room is huge! And the dinner plus breakfast were very delicious and extravagant. I struggled to finish the kaiseki dinner. The staff were so helpful and polite. They even brought all my luggage to the room from the ferry terminal. The shuttle makes everything very convenient as it is farther from the main sights. The onsen was clean and very comfortable.

Jukeiso features Japanese-style rooms overlooking the majestic entrance gate (Torii) of Itsukushima-jinja Shrine, only a 5-minute walk from the Unesco World Heritage Site itself. Everything was great. We used the service to pick up our luggage from the luggage storage, and explored our way up to the beautiful hotel location on foot. The staff were welcoming. Dinner was both beautiful and delicious, and it was great to be able to book the bath for a relaxing private bath. The rooms were spacious, pretty, relaxing, and quiet with an amazing view!

Located just 25 km from Oogamiyama Omoto Shrine, Azumi Setoda provides accommodation in Onomichi with access to a garden, a shared lounge, as well as a 24-hour front desk. Staff was great, room exceeded my expectations. The whole experience itself was awesome.

Located in Tsuyama, 200 metres from Tsuyama Wonder Museum, The Shiroyama Terrace Tsuyama Villa provides accommodation with a spa and wellness centre, free private parking, an open-air bath and a... By far the best hotel experience we had in our 1 month long trip to Japan. Hotel was easy to find with free parking and an excellent location with amazing service. Could have stayed here for a whole week with the castle views!

Set in Yasugi, 26 km from Mizuki Shigeru Road, Shokinkan offers rooms with air conditioning and free WiFi. Shokinkan is a truly magical place operated by incredible people. Nestled in a gorgeous, ancient temple complex, the grounds are extremely fun to hike/explore during the day, with plenty of opportunities to learn about the history of the place through thoughtful signage and the wonderful staff. The food was absolutely delicious - we were eating a feast of unique foods specially prepared for us every evening and morning, which made the experience epic. Okami-san and everyone else here gregariously welcomed us with cups of beautiful matcha, and even shuttled us to and from Yasugi station and to the Adachi Museum of Art. I will never forget this place!

Located in Miyajima with Five Storey Pagoda and Itsukushima Shrine nearby, Kinsuikan provides accommodation with free private parking, as well as access to a hot spring bath. The dinner was incredible! They brought it to our room and had an English menu to explain what the different food items were. The onsen was also very nice and we also enjoyed having drinks in the rooftop bar area! I would definitely stay here again!

Itsukushimahigashimonzen Kikugawa, a property with a shared lounge, is located in Miyajima, 2.3 km from Tsutsumigaura Beach, 500 metres from Five Storey Pagoda, as well as 700 metres from Itsukushima... Our stay was absolutely amazing — we had such a great time! It was so special to experience a traditional Japanese-style stay with a luxurious touch. The atmosphere was calm and authentic, yet every detail felt refined. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the traditional Japanese breakfast was a real highlight — the salmon in particular was delicious. The staff were extremely kind, helpful, and communicated well in English, which made everything smooth and stress-free. I truly loved every part of our stay. 100% recommend!

Situated in Tottori, 48 km from Daijoji Temple, Kansuitei Kozeniya offers accommodation with a hot spring bath, a public bath and an open-air bath. I experienced the best hospitality I've ever experienced in a small Japanese town. The ability to use the private hot spring without a reservation was the best part. The breakfast was also really classy. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit.

Situated in Onomichi and only 25 km from Oogamiyama Omoto Shrine, Suminoe Ryokan features accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking. Old traditional Inn with a beautiful garden in the courtyard and views of the waterfront. Lots of common areas space. Our room had a garden view, was spacious, futons and pillows very comfortable. There is a good size fridge, a toilet, and a convenient sink for wash up and set all toiletries. Everything works well, wifi etc…onsen was very nice as well. The whole place is very clean and quiet, Breakfast and dinner are served in a room and you can enjoy the view of the garden if you leave the doors open, the food was very good, traditional Japanese. Fantastic location, basically across the street from the ferry we took for Onomichi. And by the bike path. The Main Street starts around the corner. All the staff is wonderful. The hostesses are incredibly kind, fun and caring, they will assist you with anything. They picked us up at the Setoda bus station, we were grateful. You can rent a bike nearby. Also I forgot my iPad on the JR train, they took the matter in their hands and I got it the next day!! We spent 3 nights and it was great. We will definitely come back if in the area again.
