They demonstrated extreme availability and sensitivity to our needs, ensuring every aspect of our visit was handled with grace and efficiency. ​It is rare to find a place where the setting, the structure, and the service align so perfectly. Jukeiso features Japanese-style rooms overlooking the majestic entrance gate (Torii) of Itsukushima-jinja Shrine, only a 5-minute walk from the Unesco World Heritage Site itself. Everything!!! I can't explain how this stay exceeded our expectations. The kindest people, most beautiful view, cozy feeling and just made us wish we stayed there longer.

Our stay at Azumi Setoda was exceptional from start to finish. The staff deserve special praise: unfailingly kind, attentive, and remarkably efficient . Every interaction felt warm and genuinely welcoming. The rooms are impeccably clean—truly spotless—with a sense of calm, light, making the space feel instantly relaxing. Housekeeping and presentation are flawless, and the atmosphere throughout the property is serene and elegant. The food is outstanding, from breakfast all the way to dinner. Each plate showed great care, quality ingredients, and fantastic balance of flavours. The sommelier is superb: extremely knowledgeable, with thoughtful pairings and explanations that elevate the entire dining experience. Unequivocally outstanding !!

The Shiroyama Terrace Tsuyama Villa ligt in Tsuyama, op 2 minuten lopen van Tsuyama Wonder Museum, en biedt accommodatie met een tuin, gratis privéparkeren, een gedeelde lounge en een terras. Op onze rondreis verbleven we voor 1 nacht in dit hotel. Zeer comfortabele kamer en badkamer. Wij hadden twee eenpersoonsbedden van elk 1 meter breed. Hotel ziet er echt mooi uit. Heerlijke baden op de bovenste verdieping met uitzicht. Ontbijt is heel goed. Personeel zeer attent. Je kan in het hotel dineren of in een van de nabij gelegen restaurants. Een goed restaurant zit 2 straten verderop.

Shokinkan biedt gratis WiFi in de hele accommodatie en kamers met airconditioning in Yasugi. It's a traditional Japanese ryokan in a temple. Nice staff and we really enjoyed the stay.

Kinsuikan ligt in Miyajima, op 2,6 km van Tsutsumigaura Beach, en biedt accommodatie met een tuin, gratis privéparkeren, een gedeelde lounge en een restaurant. everything was perfect, it was full experience. We loved the possibility to go out in our yukatas, there were outdoor traditional shoes provided and special socks in the room. The dinner felt like Michelin star restaurant and staff prepared our futons while we were eating. The view from the rooftop was the best and free snacks and drinks were provided. Ryokan hot bath is also very well maintained. Personnel was increadibly nice and helpful all the time. I would totally come back again!

Itsukushimahigashimonzen Kikugawa ligt in Miyajima, op 2,3 km van Tsutsumigaura Beach en 6 minuten lopen van Pagode met vijf verdiepingen, en biedt accommodatie met een gedeelde lounge. The silence, the calm, the location, the room, the atmosphere. It was beautiful and it was worth every penny. I would have stayed a week.

Kansuitei Kozeniya bevindt zich in Tottori, op 48 km van Daijoji Temple en 7,4 km van Tottori Sand Dunes, en biedt accommodatie met een tuin, gratis WiFi en gratis privéparkeren. I experienced the best hospitality I've ever experienced in a small Japanese town. The ability to use the private hot spring without a reservation was the best part. The breakfast was also really classy. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit.

Suminoe Ryokan bevindt zich in Onomichi, op 25 km van Oogamiyama Omoto Shrine en 28 km van Saikon-ji Temple, en biedt accommodatie met een tuin, gratis WiFi en gratis privéparkeren. Old traditional Inn with a beautiful garden in the courtyard and views of the waterfront. Lots of common areas space. Our room had a garden view, was spacious, futons and pillows very comfortable. There is a good size fridge, a toilet, and a convenient sink for wash up and set all toiletries. Everything works well, wifi etc…onsen was very nice as well. The whole place is very clean and quiet, Breakfast and dinner are served in a room and you can enjoy the view of the garden if you leave the doors open, the food was very good, traditional Japanese. Fantastic location, basically across the street from the ferry we took for Onomichi. And by the bike path. The Main Street starts around the corner. All the staff is wonderful. The hostesses are incredibly kind, fun and caring, they will assist you with anything. They picked us up at the Setoda bus station, we were grateful. You can rent a bike nearby. Also I forgot my iPad on the JR train, they took the matter in their hands and I got it the next day!! We spent 3 nights and it was great. We will definitely come back if in the area again.
