Jukeiso features Japanese-style rooms overlooking the majestic entrance gate (Torii) of Itsukushima-jinja Shrine, only a 5-minute walk from the Unesco World Heritage Site itself. The shuttle service from the ferry terminal, the private bath (free of charge) available for timeslot bookings, and the staff were all wonderful and exceptional. Amazing views. The private bath was a welcome amenity for us as we didn't realize it was something offered without extra charge. It has two showers and a bath with adjustable temperature (add hot or cold water to adjust).

Just a 7-minute walk from Itsukushima Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Combining modern design with a homely decor, Kikunoya Hotel offers both Western and Japanese-style rooms. Everything! The staff service was incredible and the food delicious. The footbath they have in a little café at the entrance is all you need after a long Day walking.

I Onomichi, 25 kilometer fra Oogamiyama Omoto Shrine, ligger Azumi Setoda, som har en hage, gratis privat parkering, en fellesstue og en restaurant. We were truly impressed by the stunning aesthetics of the hotel and the exceptional service provided by the staff. Their dedication shone through, especially when they helped us plan and book a delightful boat journey on the same day. This personalized attention made our experience truly memorable!

I Tsuyama, 2 minutters gange fra Tsuyama Wonder Museum, ligger The Shiroyama Terrace Tsuyama Villa, som har en hage, gratis privat parkering, en fellesstue og en terrasse. As expected from the Japanese service in ryokan, the comfort is exceptional. The staff were hospitable. The rooms were clean and functional. Breakfast had many dishes to choose from. My parents were very happy. Thank you!

Shokinkan tilbyr gratis WiFi over hele overnattingsstedet og rom med klimaanlegg i Yasugi. This was a once-in-a-Lifetime experience! I could not rate them any higher if I tried. The host picked me up from the small railway station. At no charge. He helped me carry my heavy suitcase. Don’t bring one there if you can help it. He took me to this most beautiful location right next to a Buddhist-monastery. In the middle of the woods, going through small, adventurous roads. I was greeted with a matcha 🍵 and a sweet. A can of tea was given to me. My room had a big window to the woods. I went to view the surroundings and I was honestly stunned. His wife asked me if I wanted a bath and at what time I wished to eat. The food served in a separate private room by the family ( grandma and wife) was out of this world. So much love put into that. So much effort. And it never ended, the arrival of even more little pots and pans. I then slept in the perfectly clean little bed on the floor. Rainy night, so cozy. Breakfast was served and just as perfect as the evening before. The host took me back to the train. I left my bag at the station to see the Adachi- museum of art. All in all, if you are after the real Japanese experience- go here! I took the train here for 6 hours, and I would always do this again. I just wish they put their prices up. They are so much worth this- and more.

Bare 2,3 kilometer fra Tsutsumigaura-stranden og 6 minutters gange fra Fem-etasjes pagode, i Miyajima, ligger Itsukushimahigashimonzen Kikugawa, som har en fellesstue. I like the bathroom, it's very comfortable. Service is very well. The location is so good, near the visiting streat but calm

I Tottori, bare 48 kilometer fra Daijoji Temple og 7,4 kilometer fra Tottori Sand Dunes ligger Kansuitei Kozeniya. Private bath to accommodate my tattoos.

I Onomichi, bare 25 kilometer fra Oogamiyama Omoto Shrine og 28 kilometer fra Saikon-ji Temple ligger Suminoe Ryokan. Beautiful Ryokan in an old traditional building with a, lovely garden, right next to the sea. I enjoyed my stay right from the start with the warm welcome at check-in (owner could speak some English - thank you). The room was like the photos promised, a cosy futon waiting for me (there was also a tasty lemon treat in the fridge). Although small, the bath was nice and I could relax after a day of cycling. Breakfast was also delicious. Next time, I'll book dinner as well.
