This place is a GEM! We loved everything about our stay at Kurumiya. The staff is so dedicated and friendly. They really care about offering the best service. The breakfast was excellent. The rooms are very nice, stocked with nice amenities and we made good use of the private Onsen after walking all day. Its a small boutique hotel decorated with taste and with attention to details, it is perfectly located so you can walk everywhere to the main attractions in Kanazawa. We would go back in a heartbeat!

Wow, this place is truly amazing and went above and beyond to make our stay in Kanazawa perfect. First, the location is in the historic Higashi Chaya District, allowing you to stay in an area with incredible character and beauty. It is within walking distance to other famous sites in the city including Kanazawa Castle, Kenroku-en, and Omicho Market. The facilities are amazing--beautifully maintained and restored, with both historic character and modern amenities. We truly appreciated the fact that a washer/dryer combo was in the room and there was washing detergent available as well. The very modern bathroom made us feel like we were at a spa. I loved the fact that the sleeping area was partitioned off from the dining room/kitchenette area. The futon beds were sooooo comfortable. The kitchenette area was well stocked with supplies including a microwave and induction stove for those who wanted to make something themselves. The morning breakfast was also phenomenal and probably the biggest surprise of our stay. It was absolutely delicious and one of our favorite meals during the trip. We loved the pastries and even took a detour in our site seeing day to visit the bakery they came from as we were so impressed with pastries served during breakfast. But what really sets Utaimachi apart was the INCREDIBLE staff. From check in to check out, each team member went out of their way to make sure we had a great stay and were comfortable. They gave us wonderful advice for getting around the city and helped us ship our luggage to our next hotel location. They truly went above and beyond to make our journey to and from Kanazawa smooth and stress free. Thank you so much Utaimachi for a wonderful stay and for all of your generous hospitality!

Located in Kanazawa, within 22 km of Kanazawa Castle and 23 km of Kenrokuen Garden, B&B MIKAWA - Kanazawa Fish Harbour provides accommodation with a shared lounge as well as free private parking for... Cozy and clean room and common area. The shared dining and kitchen with fireplace was unexpectedly very pleasant and relaxing. The whole place was kept constantly clean. It was the most perfect and ideal bed and breakfast experience I’ve had so far.

Offering a garden and garden view, Gunjo no Tsuki is located in Kanazawa, 1.8 km from Kanazawa Castle and 1.7 km from Kenrokuen Garden. An amazing Japanese-style apartment, modern and beautiful, in a lovely location (minutes walk from the Samurai district and the Ninja Temple). We enjoyed the facilities, the space, tasteful decoration. Probably our best accommodation during our trip in Japan. Highly recommend it!

Featuring 3-star accommodation, Yamanoo is situated in Kanazawa, 1.7 km from Kenrokuen Garden and 2.9 km from Kanazawa Station. This property was sublime. The service was impeccable, the food authentic and incredibly amazing, healthy, and delicious. The staff beyond courteous, but that is pretty standard for Japan :). The location was lovely, the accommodations gorgeous. Everything about this place really was the quintessential Japanese experience. I wish I could be back there. Thank you for such a magical stay.

Located a 5-minute drive from JR Kanazawa Station, Ryokan Yamamuro offers Japanese-style guestrooms with free WiFi. Omicho Market and Kanazawa Castle Park can both be reached with a 5-minute walk. Virtues abound at this wonderful inn. The central location, the accommodating staff, the many room choices, the very nice onsen bath, the easy and pleasant common room, the perfect pillows and non-down comforters, the very quiet neighborhood. We stayed in the quiet second floor family room (with restrooms also on the second floor.) For what you get, this place is a bargain! Also, the incredible Kanazawa Curry Laboratory restaurant is only a few blocks away. Best three nights sleep we have had in years of visiting Japan!

Boasting a 200-year history, Motoyu Ishiya features classic architecture, an original Noh stage and a garden. This ryokan was the highlight of our trip. The 5-person room offered a large space with closets, terraces, low and high tables, wooden wall ornaments, and painted sliding doors, for a memorable traditional stay. The room included the standard toilet and washroom, except for the shower. The public bath should be used for showering and bathing. Meals were served in a beautiful dining room at the agreed time. Breakfast and dinner included numerous small portions of traditional food. Although it was fish and vegetable-heavy, everything tasted good, and the meal size was more than enough for everyone. During dinner, the staff prepared futon beds in the room. They were very comfortable and we had a great sleep. However, futons are harder than mattresses and encourage sleeping on your back. The onsen was the main attraction. There were the inside and the outside hot baths, and the cold bath. The water is very dark and not transparent. It's supposed to have a very high pH and be good for skin. I believe this onsen offers great value for a reasonable price, probably because its location is not particularly famous.
