We loved the authentic ryokan feel with the tatami mats. We booked the kaiseki dinner which I’d highly recommend as it was so delicious. Staff were brilliant, took time to explain everything. The onsen was lovely and my first experience of it in Japan! Room was so spacious and clean. Nice quiet neighbourhood close to subway station.

The staff are extremely helpful, be it with recommendations for restaurants or reservations. The Japanese breakfast was excellent. The hotel is in a quiet side street about 15 minutes walk from the main train station. Bus and train are nearby. The private Onzen next to the bath room guarantees a relaxing break after a full day of sight seeing.

The room is just right for two and it's clean and comfortable. The free entry to bath house opposite the Ryokan is a must try.

Hotel Kyomachiya Ryokan Sakura Urushitei sa nachádza 10 minút chôdze od živej štvrte Kawaramachi a ponúka moderné japonské ubytovanie. Na prízemí je k dispozícii služba organizácie výletov a bar. Boli sme ubytovaní v tradičnej japonskej izbe, kde sa spalo na zemi na matracoch. Môžete požiadať o viac matrací ak je to pre Vás nepohodlné. Izba bola tichá, stále čistá, zamestnanci hotela boli veľmi príjemní. Za drobný príplatok si môžete nechať vyprať veci, čo smer využili, alebo dať raňajky, čo sme síe nevyužili, ale je to fajn plus.

Located in the sacred Koyasan area, Saizenin offers simple accommodation surrounded by mountains and many temples. Everything was beautiful and I love to take the budist ceremony with the monks. This place is beautiful and quiet just what I was looking for after long trip. The staff was very nice and kind.

Offering free Wi-Fi and a spacious public bath, Ryokan Ryokufuso is located a 15-minute walk away from JR Kyoto Train Station. We really loved the ryokan. The rooms were beautiful and very comfortable, and it reflected traditional Japanese culture wonderfully. The staff were excellent — very kind and helpful. Despite some reviews mentioning noise, we had no issues at all; in fact, I would say it was quite peaceful. We also used the onsen and truly enjoyed it. Overall, it was a fantastic experience for us in every way, and we were very satisfied with our stay. The location of the hotel was a little bit away from the city center, but honestly, I didn’t mind at all. Kyoto is a small city, and we could easily get to all the places we wanted to visit. So if you’re staying at a ryokan like this, I think location doesn’t matter that much — unless you’re planning a very long stay, in which case you might want to consider it. For us, it was definitely not a problem.

Incredible experience - we loved every moment of our time here. It was our first ryokan & onsen experience, and everything exceeded expectations. The hosts were attentive & helpful, the Japanese tatami room was spacious and comfortable, and it is in the premium location in the town centre. We chose to include dinner & breakfast, and both were phenomenal. Yukata and kimono were provided, and they took great photos for us. The private onsens inside the ryokan were lovely, and a great introduction before we went to the public onsens in town. Highly recommend. Thank you!!!!

Amazing place and unforgettable memories of staying here! Everything starting from a warm welcoming with green tea served, yukata given, kaiseki dinner was perfect! Wonderful room in Japanese traditional style with incredible garden view and a balcony with a massage chair, relaxing hot springs - all of this we will keep as the greatest memory from the ryokan!
