Just 250 metres from Zenko-ji Temple, Matsuya Ryokan offers simple Japanese rooms with tatami-mat floors, a green-tea maker and an attached Western bathroom. The hotel features public baths. Excellent location, particularly if you’re keen to attend the sunrise service at the temple. Plenty of space in the room. Terrific meals; the food and the cheerful hospitality of the dining room & kitchen staff in particular are worth the splurge.

The two staff were great - they speak English quite well, and were very patient with our very poor Japanese. Dinner + Breakfast is really good (but you do need to let them know you would like to have dinner when you are making your booking).

We had an exceptional experience Futari Shizuka. The staff were very friendly and we had lovely Japanese ladies who personally showed us to our rooms and made tea for us, and offered local Japanese snacks. We had a lovely chat, albeit limited English from them. Dinner and breakfast were served in a private room, food and service were awesome! We had a birthday celebration and they prepared a lovely cake for us. We had such a wonderful stay that we are still reminiscing weeks after our trip.

From the moment I stepped into Residence Yasushi, I was captivated. The cozy atmosphere and thoughtfully warm decorations, extending from the lobby to the dining area, immediately made me feel at home. The room was spacious, impeccably clean, and incredibly comfortable—perfect for unwinding. The private onsen was a wonderful bonus, adding a touch of luxury to the stay. The breakfast was delightful, and I appreciated the thoughtful gesture of allowing guests to use the dining area for takeaway dinners. What truly set this experience apart, however, were the people. A heartfelt thank-you to Keisuke and Aisha for their exceptional hospitality. They made my stay so memorable and special that I found myself wishing I could extend my visit. Residence Yasushi is truly a gem!

Our one night at Takimi House was the highlight of our two-week trip to Japan. The hosts, a lovely couple, made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Their warmth and hospitality were truly exceptional. The food was another standout aspect of our stay. Every meal was delicious, but the miso soup was particularly incredible. It was the best we’ve ever had! Additionally, the hosts picked us up and dropped us back off at the train station in Nagiso which was incredibly helpful given the remote location of Takimi House. This extra touch made our stay even more convenient and enjoyable. Overall, Takimi House provided an unforgettable experience, and we highly recommend it to anyone visiting Japan.

Matsumoto şehrinin Asama Onsen semtinde ideal konumda bulunan Izumiso tesisi, Matsumoto İstasyonu noktasına 5,6 km, Japonya Ukiyo-e Müzesi noktasına 7,9 km, Canora Hall noktasınaysa 33 km mesafededir.... Absolutely loved our stay at Izumiso! We opted for no dinner and the staff gave us a map of their recommendations around the area, all within walking distance. The onsen was beautiful and relaxing

Takayama şehrinde, Suzaka Hayvanat Bahçesi noktasına 12 km mesafede bulunan Ryokan Warabino tesisi bahçe, ücretsiz özel park yeri ve restoran olanağı sunar. We were really taken aback by how sumptuous the spread for both dinner and breakfast was. Loved that they used as much of the regional produce in their meals. The three private onsens were great - good and organized system and the space was kept very clean. Staff were really pleasant and great! They also provided complimentary access to the public next door which was a nice touch to the overall experience.

This is a traditional ryokan and therefore it’s important to assess it on its own terms. It’s not a luxury hotel, but it is a lovely place to stay. The staff were wonderful, our room was huge and comfortable, the onsen was beautiful and the food was outstanding. I loved the traditional yukata and samue they provided, and the beauty products in the onsen were great. The location is very good- an agricultural town with fields surrounded by mountains- but it is next to a road so it’s not the most scenic. That said, it is very close to an amazing shrine that is one of the most beautiful holy places I have ever experienced.
