You can feel the earnestness and sincerity of a place like this. I had Osaka City planned, I Had Nara park planned, but my personal favorite part of my first trip to this area, was Ikoma and this adorable Ryokan. I could have sat there in my room looking out the window for weeks. A conversation with the owner alone is worth the price of admission. This place is charming in all capital letters. Ikoma and Yamato are truly gems.

Kotono yado Musashino offers accommodation in Nara, and is located a 11-minute drive from Nara Station on the Kintetsu Nara Line. They gave special care as we were on honeymoon. Enjoyed the great service. Free entry to the hillside with picnic mat and breakfast bento. Superb! They also helped us call for taxi and was overall very attentive.

Wakasa Annex features an outdoor hot public bath and free WiFi. Other facilities include a 24-hour reception, drinks vending machines and free parking. Todai-ji Temple is only an 8-minute walk. A very comfortable tatami-mat room with a deep full soak tub. The location in regards to Nara Park was fantastic and I had a wonderful view of Tōdai-ji in the mornings. Things were very quiet, the staff went above and beyond to make sure my stay was everything it could be including walking me through all the amenities they had to offer. They also provided local area maps with all the main attractions and let me know how best to navigate what I wanted to do which helped quite a bit with planning how I spent my time.

The front desk staff were SUPERIOR, the room was beyond our expectations. Located in the heart of NARA, it was a short walk to all of the attractions and downtown shopping/restaurant area. I can't say enough about the superior level of customer care we experienced and wish I could remember her name to give her credit directly.

The accommodation facility of Gyokuzoin Temple features a hot public bath. The hotel is located in Mount Shigisan and houses a souvenir shop and drinks vending machines. Everything was great.Awesome experience.

A 12-minute walk from the Kintetsu Nara Train Station, Hotel New Wakasa offers Japanese-style rooms with tatami (woven-straw) flooring. The hotel is very nice including a superb view of the adjacent park. Very close to walk everywhere. Rooms are comfortable and shower has a very special design with a small external area. The reception and arrival services are outstanding. I only wish we could have stay longer.

A 2-minute walk from Kintetsu-Nara Station, a 5-minute taxi ride from JR Nara Train Station and a 5-minute walk from Kofuku-ji Temple, Kasuga Hotel features Japanese cuisine and beautiful hot public... I would give 11 if I could. We loved the room (super spacious!), the amenities, the Japanese breakfast and dinner, the onsen, the amazing location and last but not least - they super nice staff.

Tsukihitei is located in the Kasugayama Primeval Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Quiet and in the most amazing location! The staff were incredible. Both the breakfast and dinner were large meals and part of the whole experience. Overall it was 10/10 and a massive highlight of our trip.

If you want the authentic feel of a ryokan, this is the place. Nara Park is right next to the property, where you can feed the famous deer. The tatami beds are incredibly comfortable, and we enjoyed drinks on the terrace with an amazing view. It was a pity that the Pagoda is currently under renovation, expected to be completed around 2033 — so if you book here, don’t be disappointed if you can’t see it. The staff are friendly and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable.
