This was a very nice change from the urban hotels during our travels around Japan. The proprietress is very charming and the breakfast prepared for us was very intricate with many Japanese foods. Sleeping and bathing traditional Japanese style is also something worth experiencing. To get there from Nara, take the train from Kintetsu Nara to Ikoma station where you can take the tramway up. You can just as quickly reach Ikoma station from Osaka. We visited in September and the last tram up was at 11pm. There was a restaurant open near the ryokan until 10pm (Indonesian). And if you are able to do some stairs, I highly recommend a visit in the morning to the temple complex above the ryokan. Keep following the steps above the first temples and you will find yourself on a truly magical path.

Kotono yado Musashino offers accommodation in Nara, and is located a 11-minute drive from Nara Station on the Kintetsu Nara Line. All staff are very tentative, friendly, and so welcoming. The property is situated close to the park within a walking distance and up on the hill, so you get a good view of a sunset. The food was beautifully plated, all the dishes taste very good and you can tell that it’s from attention to details.

Wakasa Annex features an outdoor hot public bath and free WiFi. Other facilities include a 24-hour reception, drinks vending machines and free parking. Todai-ji Temple is only an 8-minute walk. Great baths. Both public and in room. Breakfast and dinner were wonderful. Gourmet level. N service was great.

Nastanitev Yoshidaya Ryokan よしだや se nahaja ob ribniku Sarusawa-ike, le 2 min hoje od templja Kofuku-ji. V sklopu nastanitve so na voljo javne kopeli in brezplačen WiFi. Amazing stay, I loved the room, so clean and so many amenities and the best location for sightseeing. I would recommend splurging for a room with a bathtub.

The accommodation facility of Gyokuzoin Temple features a hot public bath. The hotel is located in Mount Shigisan and houses a souvenir shop and drinks vending machines. A cozy stay with opportunity to experience buddhist culture. It helps that people understand the symbolism of the rituals. They speak some English and have pamphlets that explain the experiences you can purchase. We purchased the fire and chant ceremony and were blessed. It did not feel like there were many guests, so it was nice to enjoy the quiet baths and dinners. We hiked to the summit for about 20-30 min. Be sure to grab a hiking stick along the way. Very beautiful grounds and well maintained. We enjoyed the lit path at night. Yes, there are some bugs but surprisingly I didn't get many bites. Kaiseki meal was prepared beautifully with local ingredients of shiso, tofu, and pickled vegetables. They provide tea with your meal, so bring a water bottle to dinner, if you prefer.

A 12-minute walk from the Kintetsu Nara Train Station, Hotel New Wakasa offers Japanese-style rooms with tatami (woven-straw) flooring. We appreciated the warm welcome we received. The staff were very attentive, and every detail was taken care of. The room we booked matched the one pictured in the photos. We were also able to enjoy the private bathroom to relax after long days of shopping and sightseeing. Furthermore, the hotel's proximity to Nara Park allowed us to be close to many of its attractions.

A 2-minute walk from Kintetsu-Nara Station, a 5-minute taxi ride from JR Nara Train Station and a 5-minute walk from Kofuku-ji Temple, Kasuga Hotel features Japanese cuisine and beautiful hot public... This was an outstanding hotel in terms of service and atmosphere, old world Japanese service

Tsukihitei is located in the Kasugayama Primeval Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Staying at a ryokan always sort of puts a calming spell on you - and this one in the woods of Nara is magic. Enchanting location, perfectly quiet after days of busy tourism. Delicious dinner and breakfast, excellent service and beautiful facilities.
