Marumo Ryokan is an authentic Japanese ryokan and is hands down the best we’ve ever stayed at. The rooms are beautiful and spacious, it is impeccably clean, and the meals are a delicious traditional feast. The hosts are very accommodating and thoughtful. We took the train to Omi-Iwazu and then rode back to Omi-Takashima, where we rented bikes to visit the Shirahige shrine. We also went to Makino to spend some time at the beach. Our entire group of five wished we had planned to stay for 2 or 3 nights instead of one. It was a wonderful retreat from the hustle and bustle of the rest of our trip and we would hands down all choose to stay there again!

Biwako Hanakaido features outdoor and indoor hot-spring baths, 3 dining options and rooms with a balcony and Lake Biwako views. It also has a garden and a sauna, while the lobby offers free WiFi. First time trying ryokan. Went absolutely above my expectations! Fancy private dining room that you both eat dinner and breakfast at. Very friendly staff who walks you through everything. Amazing private onsen with a beautiful view. Food was amazing! Shuttle bus was quick. Absolutely huge room, even for western standards!

Biwako Ryokusuitei offers Japanese-style/Western rooms with Lake Biwako views, a flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi. ME & MY FAMILY LOVE THE DINNER & BREAKFAST. WE WERE STUFFED!

Objekt Yumotokan smješten je na idealnoj lokaciji u četvrti Ogoto Onsen u gradu 'Otsu', na 16 km od znamenitosti Hram Enryaku-ji, 17 km od znamenitosti Planina Mount Hiei i 19 km od znamenitosti Hram... Everything. The service, the quality, the staff, the facilities everything was exceptional!

Boasting a hot spring bath, Dantokan Kikunoya is located a 5-minute drive from JR Ogoto Onsen Station. Free pick-up from the station is available upon advance request. The staff here are incredible. They went above and beyond to help us celebrate our honeymoon. I was so grateful for how hard they all worked and how kind they all were. We also got the breakfast service in our room, which was excellent, and they provided several drinks in the fridge for us for free. They shuttled us from the station and back to it, and we were even sent off by the staff at the end of our stay. So friendly and welcoming. Also, our deluxe suite had the private open air bath, and I can't recommend that enough. It was so relaxing and incredible. Lastly, I personally loved the toiletries and additional things that came with the room (shampoo, straightener, beverages, yukata, pajamas, etc.)

Objekt 長浜城下 町屋ホテル 和乃リトリートひといき smješten je u gradu 'Nagahama', na 14 km od znamenitosti Dvorac Hikone, te nudi smještaj koji sadrži vrt, besplatno privatno parkiralište, terasu i bar. Loved the staff and the property - Shimpei and staff was superb, thoughtful, responsive, and just lovely. We learned so much about Lake Biwa’s local culture in such a short time thanks to Shimpei and Riyona (the resident artist)! We also loved the sauna and our room. Super cozy and also airy at the same time. Central location from train station (perfect walking distance), but quiet at the same time! Beautiful traditional neighbourhood. We also appreciated the property’s curation of local products such as the bancha tea sampler and sweet potato mochi. These little gestures/sharings really made an impression on us.

Objekt KAMENOI HOTEL Hikone nudi smještaj u gradu 'Hikone', a nalazi se u krugu od 2,7 km od znamenitosti Dvorac Hikone i 6 km od znamenitosti Željeznički kolodvor Maibara. Amazing food, pleasant staff and great onsen. Frequent shuttles to and from train station was a plus.

Objekt Honmachi Juku nalazi se u gradu 'Hikone', na manje od 1 km od znamenitosti Dvorac Hikone, te nudi smještaj koji sadrži vrt, besplatno privatno parkiralište i zajednički salon. The staff went above & beyond to accommodate me. Can't rate this 180 year old property, that's been preserved & meticulously revamped into a delightful stay. 😀

Objekt Kiyotaki Ryokan smješten je u gradu 'Hikone', u regiji ‘Shiga’, na 8 km od znamenitosti Svetište Taga-taisha. Room with tatami and dinner. Defintely have the dinner, it was probably the best meal I had in Japan during my 3 week travel. My room did not have common walls with other rooms, so it was very quiet.
