FAQs about hotels in Prague

Discover the Magic of Prague

The Czech capital is nothing short of magical, with Prague’s countless bridges, cathedrals, domes and castles reflected in the Vltava River. Thankfully the city escaped most of WWII’s destruction, leaving the rich history and fairytale façade of this Bohemian city intact.

Prague Castle is the largest ancient castle complex in the world and the St. Vitus Cathedral is a stunning example of Gothic architecture. The Cathedral’s lookout tower rewards those willing to climb 300 steps with the best view of the city.

Walking through the cobblestone streets of the Mala Strana district will bring you to the Charles Bridge. Prague’s beautiful 14th-century monument buzzes with musicians and local crafts sales. The Astronomical Clock, Tyn Church, and Storch building of Old Town compete for popularity with the neoclassical Estate Theatre and the Czech National Museum.

The cafes and restaurants of Wenceslas Square are great for people watching and the Franz Kafka house, the Old New Synagogue and Frank Gehry’s Dancing House are perfect for soaking up history.

Flights arriving at Prague Vaclav Havel International Airport will be in the city centre after a short subway ride. For historic hotels, cheap hostels or charming apartments head to Booking.com for nearly 700 accommodations in Prague.

So much to wonder at, enjoy, learn and understand.

So much to wonder at, enjoy, learn and understand. The history, the innovation, the culture, the fun. Fabulous. Just a small tip - if you only need to see and photo ‘the book column’ don’t queue. Just walk up the flight of steps to your left and the column is right there. You just won’t be able to get a pic right in front of it or look up into it-but still good photo opportunity.

Take good walking shoes, the best way to experience Prague is on foot. Visit some but not all Church's - they are all spectacular however. Try the local food - the portions are large so be careful on the waistline. Use local taxis (Uber app is essential) rather than pre book via any website. Do visit Old Prague and be prepared to be amazed - every street, not matter how small, has something to see. Visit the Jewish quarter - very interesting.

Beautiful city and very friendly people, Barcelona was my favourite European city but not any more. Prague is much better. Lots to see and do. Feet ached after 4 days of walking around. Ice bar was great. Hotel very good, only negative was expensive laundry at £100+ for 10 items, we found a nearby laundry with an English speaking young lady who charged us €8 for the same laundry

Prague has the reputation for being the most beautiful city in Europe - and it's true. Our stay was long enough for now, but we will be back to see more of the city and the whole country. One thing I would do differently - I had arranged all our ground transportation in advance. But Bolt is so easy to use and quite dependable. Next time I will just use Bolt for all ground transportation needs.

Perhaps the most beautiful among big cities in Europe, but badly overtouristed. Soon the day will come when the locals will defend themselves with water guns against the tourist flood, as they do in Spain and Italy.
