FAQs about hotels in Budapest

A City of Two Halves

With a dome reminiscent of Brunelleschi’s "The Duomo" in Florence, the Hungarian parliament building is undoubtedly the icon of Budapest. It sits majestically by the Danube, the river that both divides and unifies the 2 parts of this capital city: Buda and Pest.

Overseeing Budapest from its vantage point on Castle Hill is Buda Castle. Spectacularly lit at night, it offers the best views across this attractive city steeped in World Heritage. Some unique points of interest are Heroes Square and the Museum of Terror, reminders of the city’s more turbulent past.

Much like in Vienna further up the Danube, coffee and cake is practically an institution in Budapest. And there’s nowhere better to try this than Gerbeaud - the elaborate décor alone makes this café well worth a visit.

To really feel like a local, make a trip to the thermal baths. The relaxed Gellért Baths are a triumph of Art Nouveau grandeur, while based on their sheer size, you can't miss the outdoor Széchenyi Baths. If unusual nightlife is your thing, the club nights at these baths are great fun.

With an impressive range of Budapest hotels, apartments and hostels on offer in this city of 2 halves, Booking.com makes your choice completely easy.

The hotel is located in a lovely part of Budapest with lots of restaurants and cafes nearby, within walking distance to the city centre. The lady at the reception desk when we arrived was genuinely pleasant and helpful, she gave us information on how to properly pay for parking on the street and about our stay. We had a room with a view into the backyard, which provided us with silence for good sleep. The breakfast included in the price was tasty and as expected in hotels across Europe. (The coffee could be a bit better.)

The location is perfect- walking distance to the city centre, near to 2 metro stations & a tram station (from different directions), it’s a peaceful area even though it’s located somewhere around the heart of pest, Budapest. The room is comfortable & spacious for a family of three. Everything is clean including the bathroom. The service is really good & helpful. There are no convenient supermarkets nearby to go to at night (to buy water) but the restaurant next to the hotel lets us buy bottle of water from them.

The hotel looks a little bit shabby on the outside, but inside it’s completely renovated and looks beautiful and modern. The breakfast was fine, simple, and provided something for everyone. The staff was always incredibly helpful and kind! It’s a little further away from the city centre but super close to a metro and busstation which will get you into the city with no time. I would 100% recommend if you’re travelling to Budapest by car because of the free parking that comes with your stay!!

My stay at Budapest Panorama Central was excellent. The room was very clean, spacious, beds were very comfortable, and it far exceeded my expectations considering the affordable price of the hotel. Staff were also incredibly kind and helpful. The hotel was located in the city center, near public transportation stops, tourist attractions, and many cafes/restaurants. The area surrounding the hotel felt safe. I would definitely stay here again.

Located 10 minutes walking to center, perfectly clean (thank you Ms Anna) & friendly staff (thank you Ms Petra). Comfortable bed, enough space in room/bathroom. Good places for coffee or dinner around the hotel, if going to other side (Buda castle) taxi is around 8€. Garage parking included. Modern style design. I would say in Budapest it is the best value for money hotel and with few amenities like jacuzzi it could easly be a 5* hotel :)

Fabulous comfortable hotel a few minutes to the centre by taxi (Bolt). The bed is one of the best i have ever been in, extra king size, gorgeous bathroom with a great bathtub and shower. Great prices considering the quality of the furniture and size of the bedroom in a European capital. Amazing kind staff throughout the hotel. True 5 star experience. Location is outstanding, right in the city centre, and all of Budapest's biggest attractions can be reached on foot. Room was bright, modern and cleaned daily. Air conditioning worked perfectly well, essential as the weather was very hot. Iron and kettle were provided for me on arrival. Breakfast was nice, perfectly adequate for a three star hotel. Hotel Rum Budapest checked all of the boxes for me. Updated property, close to public transportation, bars, and cafes without being right in the middle of everything, attentive front desk staff, contemporary room with all the expected amenities, and a five-star breakfast experience in the seventh-floor restaurant. It was the best of my two-week trip through Central Europe!

Best value for money in Budapest in my opinion. We’ve been in a few places, and closed our 2 months trip in two weeks in Escala. The hotel was quiet despite the fact that there were many guests. It is a good solution if you plan to stay over night and are on your way somewhere as it is well connected with M0 and also , if you want to see Budapest, it is connected with a straight 4 lanes road with the center of the city.

The location of the hotel is phenomenal. In the strict (old) center of Budapest. I also like the design of the hotel, modernistic, and it is a counterweight to the old city center that you are looking at. A great hotel at a great price.
