With a dome reminiscent of Brunelleschi’s "The Duomo" in Florence, the Hungarian parliament building is undoubtedly the icon of Budapest. It sits majestically by the Danube, the river that both divides and unifies the 2 parts of this capital city: Buda and Pest.
Overseeing Budapest from its vantage point on Castle Hill is Buda Castle. Spectacularly lit at night, it offers the best views across this attractive city steeped in World Heritage. Some unique points of interest are Heroes Square and the Museum of Terror, reminders of the city’s more turbulent past.
Much like in Vienna further up the Danube, coffee and cake is practically an institution in Budapest. And there’s nowhere better to try this than Gerbeaud - the elaborate décor alone makes this café well worth a visit.
To really feel like a local, make a trip to the thermal baths. The relaxed Gellért Baths are a triumph of Art Nouveau grandeur, while based on their sheer size, you can't miss the outdoor Széchenyi Baths. If unusual nightlife is your thing, the club nights at these baths are great fun.
With an impressive range of Budapest hotels, apartments and hostels on offer in this city of 2 halves, Booking.com makes your choice completely easy.

The vista from the Danube was wonderful and having dinner in a restaurant near the river was a lovey experience. The parliament building was an absolute standout. Sightseeing attractions tended to be far apart though and the hop on hop off bus provided key accessibility. The number 2 tram was also really helpful. You have to be prepared to do lots of walking so sensible shoes are important. The castle precinct was disappointing because of the extensive renovations and building going on. The New York cafe experience was very disappointing. The service was appalling. It was so much better on my last visit. It just seemed like a money making machine where the customer was a necessary inconvenience. The Budapest Parisi Passage restaurant on the other hand was magnificent. It was disappointing that monuments were only in Hungarian. I would have liked to read the information. We managed to see most of the key places in two days because we had researched beforehand. It’s very tiring though so three days might be better and finding a central hotel might help.

Budapest is a city I have been to several times and there is always something to discover.
The city has an excellent public transport system. spine lines have very short intervals.
The beautiful building of the Hungarian Parliament, walks along the Danube embankment, Buda Castle, Gellért Hill and the Citadel. Thermal baths, Synagogue, city market.

Budapest is a bit of a surprise for most visitors, it is not particularly geared towards foreigners and they like it that way. Having said that, it has come a really long way since my first visit in 1998. Signage is finally in English in places were it's useful. Prices are still decent compared with other major European cities, and all the more because we found where the locals eat.

We either walked or travelled using tram/bus metro tickets which we bought as a 10 pack about £8.00 validate them by feeding them into little machine onboard which date stamps them. Plenty of cycling. There are two sides to the city....Buda and Pest with several walkable bridges between them. Plenty of walks and parks. Food and drink cheaper than nearby Austria so we tried Indian restaurant Santa's which was good. Building are full of architectural detail. Plenty of museums. People are friendly and helpful. Would definitely visit again.
This is my 2nd visit in 15 months. I actually upgraded to a junior suite !!! Absolutely luxurious for only an extra £20 a night. One of the best city break hotels I have stayed in from all over Europe. Spotless, luxurious, most friendliest staff I have ever met. Best location in centre but very quiet and still private. 5 mins from Danube, shops, restaurants and easy to catch transport to attractions. Can’t rate this hotel highly enough to anyone visiting Budapest. More like a 5 star hotel!
Great hotel at a marvellous location - it is actually right in the city centre (city centre in Budapest is a large area with a lot of sightseeing spots) at a super busy location. Yet if you go just around the corner it is going to be very quiet and quite a few nice restaurants there. The staff is helpful and friendly. If you do not feel like going anywhere, there is also a nice restaurant and bar right in the hotel (downstairs and also on the rooftop). All-in-all would visit again :)
This small apartment has everything you need for your stay in Budapest. The location is great with busses conneiing to the city centre just a short walk away. One of the best public baths with thermal springs is also really close. The apartment itself is super clean and the bed is very comfy. Check-in and out is super easy. The host is super nice, arranged for an early check-in and was overall super friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend!
The hotel’s staffs are all very helpful & friendly and have the best customer service. (At the reception Benedek and Adam gave good info about the city)
The breakfast buffet is the best we had in Europe, The manager Peter is awesome incredibly personal service always greeting guests and very welcoming. Location is great 5 minutes walk to the opera. The room is modern and clean. We had the best stay in Budapest thanks to Cortile Hotel.
I travelled with my bestie to Budapest and stayed 3 nights here. The apartment was spotless and Saza was a great host who gave us a wine gift upon our arrival. We arrived in budapest around 7am and got the room earlier before the check in time without any additional charges. The location was perfect as it is walking distance to the main tourist spots and city centre. You will never go wrong with this nice homey place. Thank you so much!
I had a great time in the hotel. A great place. The restaurant is the best. My waiter and the restaurant manager are the best. The reception guy was super-friendly. A great classic hotel to stay in a center of Budapest. A walking distance to the museums, their main St. Stephan cathedral and the bridges. The room is decorated in the Baroque style and had a mini-fridge.
Highly recommend.
A true hotel for music lovers! I decided to bring my mom to Budapest for her birthday, she has traveled the world and played in the best concert halls from Liceu to Carnegie Hall... and so far this was her favourite stay. The manager even allowed her to play the piano for a few minutes, it was lovely.
The hotel was very clean and the staff was very friendly. Close to the airport, the city centre and to most of the sights.
We would definitely choose it again for our next visit to Budapest. Already recommended it to some friends, going to Budapest in the middle of August.
Everything was awesome!
I was second time here this year. The location is the best possible with a lot of posibilities to visit all important places in Budapest.
I highly recommend thia hotel if you are a tourist that want to ejnoy at maximum your stay in Budapest.
I had a good time in Budapest and I liked the Silver Hotel, because it has a good price, it is clean and comfortable. It is located in the city centre and you can have a good view from your room. The breakfast is pretty good also. I can recommend it.
Great location - city centre but quite and peaceful. Room was warm and clean, comfortable. Great breakfast. Amazing staff 😁
Budapest is charming and majestic!
I wish prosperity and all the best to hotel staff
I recommend you this hotel 😊
Best breakfast I've had in a city centre hotel, with stunning views over Budapest from the breakfast dining area. Room was very clean and spacious and had everything we needed. Location ideal for exploring Buda and Pest.
Good hotel in the center of Budapest, close to the river and respective attractions.
Comfortable spacious rooms, excellent breakfast.
Staff was friendly and even borrowed me a charger for my mobile phone.
It's a great hotel if you are coming to Budapest by car since it has ample parking space, and if you plan on driving to the city centre. It's a clean, comfortable hotel at a good price.
This is one of the best hotels I ever stayed. Fantastic! And I am pretty hard to please. I would go back to Budapest just to stay in this place. Better than Four Seasons.
The Crue was very professional and kind, the hotel is very stylish and classic, the best one for staying in Budapest. Right in the middle of the center of Budapest
We are regular guests, still returning back when we stay in Budapest so it says everything. Very comfortable hotel nearby city centre with everything you need.
