With a dome reminiscent of Brunelleschi’s "The Duomo" in Florence, the Hungarian parliament building is undoubtedly the icon of Budapest. It sits majestically by the Danube, the river that both divides and unifies the 2 parts of this capital city: Buda and Pest.
Overseeing Budapest from its vantage point on Castle Hill is Buda Castle. Spectacularly lit at night, it offers the best views across this attractive city steeped in World Heritage. Some unique points of interest are Heroes Square and the Museum of Terror, reminders of the city’s more turbulent past.
Much like in Vienna further up the Danube, coffee and cake is practically an institution in Budapest. And there’s nowhere better to try this than Gerbeaud - the elaborate décor alone makes this café well worth a visit.
To really feel like a local, make a trip to the thermal baths. The relaxed Gellért Baths are a triumph of Art Nouveau grandeur, while based on their sheer size, you can't miss the outdoor Széchenyi Baths. If unusual nightlife is your thing, the club nights at these baths are great fun.
With an impressive range of Budapest hotels, apartments and hostels on offer in this city of 2 halves, Booking.com makes your choice completely easy.

Lots to see; very friendly people; wonderful thermal baths; lots of interesting art galleries and museums, although watch for changing opening hours around bank holidays! Best things we visited - English bookshop with friendly owner on Castle Hill, National Museum and National Art Gallery, Geller Thermal Baths, Great Synagogue, Miksa Roth Stained Glass museum, György Ráth Villa. Less keen on the House of Terror - politically slanted, unfriendly & claustrophobic.

It doesn't have the same standard of art galleries and museums you'd find in Prague or Vienna. However Memento Park is well worth a visit: https://www.mementopark.hu/en/home/ See the remains of former Soviet statues taken down after the Union collapsed.
Széchenyi Thermal Spa has half day tickets for about £30; the afternoon session starts at 3pm. Don't expect much information to be in English. Locker keys are included in the price, but towels and flip flops are extra, so bring your own. If you want to swim in the 50m lanes of the main outdoor pool you must wear a swimming cap, but not in the rest of the baths. It was very crowded!

Fantastic city, very friendly people, lots to see and do.
Fantastic city, very friendly people, lots to see and do. We also had brilliant weather. Make sure to book a ticket to see inside parliament building a good few months ahead of your trip. Also the Danube evening cruises get booked up very quickly. You must visit St Margaret’s Island. The musical fountain is brilliant. The thermal baths are a must. There are so many places to eat. We mainly ate around the St Stephen’s Basillica area. High Note Roof Top Bar is lovely. Also a must for Budapest is to download the BOLT app. This is the city’s version of UBER and it’s brilliant.

It is one of the most beautiful capitals in Europe!
It is one of the most beautiful capitals in Europe! Buda Castle, Matthias Church and Gellert Hill on Buda side, the Parliament, Saint Stephen's Basilica, The House of Terror (about the terrors of Nacism and Communism) Vaci Street (pedestrian, shopping street) and the Great Market Hall at the foot of Elizabeth Bridge on Pest side, the Danube, the bridges and Margaret Island (Margit Sziget) are all worth visiting at least once in a lifetime! Városliget, The House of Music, Vajdahunyad Castle and the Zoo are a must for families with children. The Spas are also amazing. And one must try out Hungarian delicacies like lángos, zserbó or kürtőskalács.

It is an amazing city with a lot of history.
It is an amazing city with a lot of history. These are very resilient, and patriotic people. Given the communist history, and political environment, I am truly amazed at their dedication to their desire for independence and true democracy, despite the challenges of history, and politics.
The city itself is a beautiful place, with a lot of history, and everything to see and do that one could ask for. Plenty of public transportation, with buses, subways, cabs, trains, all close by, and for $100 a day or less you can have the best that Budapest has to offer.
The hotel is just great: clean, spacious, bright. You can feel that everything is new here and designed with a good taste. It is very convenient to have a kitchen with full equipment: even a filter for water is there. The host - Alex, is the best you can wish for: always there to help. Even by the phone. Speaks Russian, so my parents were just happy about it :)
We ordered the rooms with a breakfast at Astoria hotel nearby and enjoyed it too.
I have no problem staying at places like Budapest Global Suites permanently!
Great hotel at a marvellous location - it is actually right in the city centre (city centre in Budapest is a large area with a lot of sightseeing spots) at a super busy location. Yet if you go just around the corner it is going to be very quiet and quite a few nice restaurants there. The staff is helpful and friendly. If you do not feel like going anywhere, there is also a nice restaurant and bar right in the hotel (downstairs and also on the rooftop). All-in-all would visit again :)
Easy to arrive and find, bus stop and metro station very close to the hotel. Close to city centre, nice walking tours frim and to the hotel. Spacious room and bathroom for three people. Coffee machine in the room with good quality coffee. Very clean room. Excellent breakfast to keep you full during the whole day, good quality of food, great variety and selections, very good coffee! Overall very good hotel, will stay again if I will visit Budapest in the future
I travelled with my bestie to Budapest and stayed 3 nights here. The apartment was spotless and Saza was a great host who gave us a wine gift upon our arrival. We arrived in budapest around 7am and got the room earlier before the check in time without any additional charges. The location was perfect as it is walking distance to the main tourist spots and city centre. You will never go wrong with this nice homey place. Thank you so much!
The Hotel is perfectly located in the city center, all the best places in the city are at 10-15 minutes walk or within 1-2 metro/tram stops.
The staff, from reception to breakfast, was absolutely amazing and very helpful with every need and request we had.
The room was exactly as described in the images, and the bed was very comfortable.
Bottom line - Great pick for the best Budapest experience :)
Was my first time in Budapest, the best place to stay is Matild. They arranged for me flowers and chocolate for my lovely wife, and they added a huge hearth balloon and Champagne. Best Valentine ever. The staff always motivated to help or bring you information. Don't think twice because Staff and hotels like this, it's hard to find. I sleep on the top floor with an amazing view.
Hotel Rum Budapest checked all of the boxes for me. Updated property, close to public transportation, bars, and cafes without being right in the middle of everything, attentive front desk staff, contemporary room with all the expected amenities, and a five-star breakfast experience in the seventh-floor restaurant. It was the best of my two-week trip through Central Europe!
I had a good time here in Budapest and the Silver Hotel was a part of it. The rooms and the beds are comfortable and clean, the breakfast is decent and the whole price is convenient. It is located in the city centre and there's a nice view from the room. Everything is close to it and the employees provide any service that you need. I can recommend this hotel.
Breakfast was grand! The room new and up to date wonderfull shower! the SPA is fantastic, thermal baths weer devine!! outdoor pool sun tarras great! quiet in the rooms very well isolated! Situated on the island in the city centre! Sziget island is the central park of Budapest! If you go to budapest stay at this hotel! you'll be amazed
Hotel is in city centre, close to all main attractions, restaurants, room was clean, comfortable bed, and very quiet . it is nice hotel. it’s not super luxurious, but if you look for a nice cheap place for your stay, i can only recommend. we didn’t have breakfast, because we like to sleep, so we had “late” breakfast in cafeterias..
The hotel is in the heart of the city centre very near to St Stephen’s Basilica and therefore very convenient for seeing the sights of Budapest. The hotel layout and rooms were very comfortable. We enjoyed excellent choice of breakfast food during our three day stay and the reception staff were very friendly and helpful.
We stayed at this hotel for the second time and again everything was great. Everyone is so nice and helpful, breakfasts are great! Room is nice and silent. Location of the hotel is really good and you can walk to the city centre without using public transport. When we will go to Budapest again our hotel choice is clear!
Boutique hotel in the heart of the gorgeous castle district in Budapest on the Buda side. Fabulously designed and furnished with the perfect mix of old and new. Loved the Frenchy breakfasts and our dinner onsite. Savored both outside due to great fall weather. Staff was engaging and rooms clean.
Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Couldn't imagine a better experience with staff at another hotel. All the facilities are up to date and the city centre location is perfect for a brisk walk in the city. Definitely recommend staying here if you are planning a quick trip to Budapest.
The owner was very kind and accepted our booking a few hours before new year's eve. A cozy nook right in the center of Budapest, it had everything we needed to spend the night and get up and running in the morning. We've spent nights in hotels that offered way less for way more money.
Perfect hotel very close to the main city centre for reasonable price! The staff is helpful and everything is as it should be. Rooms are cleaned daily and everything is clean and perfect. Totally recommend if you are visiting Budapest. The Netflix is only a big + for evenings.
Great position in the city centre to visit all Budapest best sights. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Nice bar/restaurant within the hotel and they offer you a free cocktail/beer on arrival. Staff was kind and helpful. Good WiFi connection in the hotel.
Comparing to other hotels in Budapest City Center, this hotel offers the best price. The room was so big and comfortable. It was better than I expected. If I travel again to Budapest I will stay at this hotel again. Greetings from Azerbaijan!
Wonderful quiet hotel in the center of Budapest. Tasty and variable breakfast. Netflix account, which gives the opportunity to watch the movies in original language. Excellent wifi. Highly recommendable.
Very good hotel in the great area. The best receptionist is Angelina. We loved it, so if we will be in Budapest for one more time, we will definitly stay in this house again.
