With a dome reminiscent of Brunelleschi’s "The Duomo" in Florence, the Hungarian parliament building is undoubtedly the icon of Budapest. It sits majestically by the Danube, the river that both divides and unifies the 2 parts of this capital city: Buda and Pest.
Overseeing Budapest from its vantage point on Castle Hill is Buda Castle. Spectacularly lit at night, it offers the best views across this attractive city steeped in World Heritage. Some unique points of interest are Heroes Square and the Museum of Terror, reminders of the city’s more turbulent past.
Much like in Vienna further up the Danube, coffee and cake is practically an institution in Budapest. And there’s nowhere better to try this than Gerbeaud - the elaborate décor alone makes this café well worth a visit.
To really feel like a local, make a trip to the thermal baths. The relaxed Gellért Baths are a triumph of Art Nouveau grandeur, while based on their sheer size, you can't miss the outdoor Széchenyi Baths. If unusual nightlife is your thing, the club nights at these baths are great fun.
With an impressive range of Budapest hotels, apartments and hostels on offer in this city of 2 halves, Booking.com makes your choice completely easy.
Budapest is a very beautiful city. There are lots of glamerous historic buildings. The city is walkable and the food is nice. It was one of my best trips. A slight level of familiarity with the Hungarian language might be helpful occasionally because not all the people could speak English (but I think many countries are like this which is ok). Highly recommend it❤️

Budapest is one of our favorite cities, many sights to visit during the day and active nightlife. We didn't like the smell of urine in many places, although we noticed that the sidewalks were being washed. Compared to previous years, prices have increased both in accommodation and in restaurants.
The citadel area is still being restored, and there is a construction site at Buda Castle and the buildings behind the Parliament. We will return when they are completed

Budapest has to be one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. The buildings are amazing both inside and out. Everywhere is very clean. There are several thermal baths to visit, an incredible opera house, a nice zoo and the beautiful Danube runs through the city, dividing Buda from Pest. You can take boat trip either during the day or a night, both of which I would highly recommend. There is also so much history, some of which is incredibly sad and particularly moving is the monument near the river of the shoes cast in bronze of Jews who perished during WW2. Lots of wonderful churches to visit including many places where you can climb the towers to get a bird's eye view of the city.

The problem with tip giving is that every one likes other things. You have a great variety of restaurants bars and street food and anyone can get what he likes. The city had great history and you can see it when going around the city. The transportation is excellent. People over 65 get a raid free even to the airport. It is my fourth time in the city since 1990 and it is always better.

Lovely city with beautiful architecture.
Lovely city with beautiful architecture. BUT the city center (and around it) was filled with ugly graffiti everywhere. Every wall available on the ground floor was covered in all kinds of spray writing. Lots of beggars everywhere, foul smell.
There are nice things to do and experience, as well. You just need to be very intentional about what you want to visit and plan in advance.
If you're traveling with children, the playgrounds are very nice and versatile, even in the city center

Beautiful city, clean and for the most part walkable.
Beautiful city, clean and for the most part walkable.
Loads to do and see, plenty of great sights.
Take a free guided tour asap to get tips and find your way about. Download the Budapest tram app and buy tickets on the app.
As usual in these places the centre is expensive for eating, try dining on the Buda side or slightly out of the centre for greater value. The Kisskakuk is absolutely superb, and a third cheaper than anywhere central. We had three full days and could have filled one more.
The opera house, Basillica, synagogue and parliament are all worth seeing but book before you go. Don’t pay more than 15/20 euros for a night time River cruise.
Easy to find, just a minute away from the tram that takes you to the city centre for 25 min. There is a shopping centre within 5 min drive with a car. Next to the hotel there is a winery where you can buy Hungarian sparkling wine.
The rooms are good enough with spacious bathrooms and plenty of towels.
The rooms have a balcony with private jacuzzi that you can use. The water temperature is 40 degrees celsius.
The parking is big and free (a rare finding in Budapest).
Breakfast was exelent, very good food, everything very fresh and tasty, the dining room is very very clean and the staff is very freindly and helpfull. Want to thank Irda who welcomed us every morning with a big smile, and Dora for preparing the wonderfull food.
The location is right in the center of Budapest.
Very quiet hotel.
Room was large, comfortable and very clean. The shower was exceptional.
Coffee machine in the lobby with very good coffee.
Wow! 5 star hotel literally a palace!
Fabulous staff who go out of there way to help!!
Kind and helpful -
Fabulous on site restaurant and the breakfast is wonderful in a large palace room that was a piece of art with stunning frescoes - the sweetest staff ever - as an American, Hungary is not as proficient in the English language so expect some language barriers more then more then other parts of Europe - but they all try their best with kindness
Parking in Budapest might be a bit tricky and expensive, and so I choose this hotel because I was looking for a place where I can safely leave my car over the night and still easily reach the city centre.
The hotel has a surprisingly big parking lot behind the building, which was great. And the underground was in 5min walk, so the location was also perfect for us. The staff was really kind, and the room was very quiet and cozy, good value for money.
My stay at Budapest Panorama Central was excellent. The room was very clean, spacious, beds were very comfortable, and it far exceeded my expectations considering the affordable price of the hotel. Staff were also incredibly kind and helpful. The hotel was located in the city center, near public transportation stops, tourist attractions, and many cafes/restaurants. The area surrounding the hotel felt safe. I would definitely stay here again.
I appreciated the calm of the hotel located in a small street, just closed to the metro station.
- Room was clean and quiet
- Price reasonnable
- Not far from City center.
The receptionnist Zsaklin was very nice and attentive to explain me all the services offered in the Hotel and to give me tips on where to go or to visit in Budapest, as it was my first time there. It made my stay very pleasant.
I will come back next time.
Unimpressive from the outside, but inside a completely newly renovated, excellent hotel. I had a very quiet room. Room furnishings and bathroom were excellent. Breakfast buffet was very good. The hotel is very close to the urban park and there are several interesting museums nearby. You can get to the city centre quickly by underground. The hotel staff is friendly and professional. I recommend this hotel for a stay in Budapest!
very modern newly refurbished city hotel part of a chain, short walk to Budapests excellent & cheap public transport, the water front, shops and restaurants and the food hall. Clean modern bath room, fantastic breakfast included. The perfect choice for a first visit to Budapest. Helpful staff, and free coffee, water snacks in reception. Nespresso machine and water in room.
The location was perfect. Hotel/apartment was perfect and funky, just the way we like it! We walked to everything (great restaurants, all the “touristy” locations and took the bus to the mineral springs). Budapest was fantastic and Budapest Museum Central was the best place we could have asked for. If you don’t want a typical tourist hotel, this is the perfect place!
We had a wonderful stay at Ibis. The rooms and aesthetics are very nice and make you feel at home. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Their breakfast buffets are the best. The hotel is located very close to the Danube River and all major bus stops and tram stations in the city. Overall, our stay here was very convenient and perfect for our first trip to Budapest.
We really enjoyed our stay at Roombach hotel and we will definitely choose it again when we come back to Budapest. Good variety of food at breakfast, everything was fresh and tasty, very friendly staff, they even help us with the parking, great location, right in the city centre. Room was not very big but enough for our stay and we appreciated the cleanliness!
Wow.. one of the most amazing hotels ive been to. It used to be a palace for the emperor guests and now it’s an hotel. You will get to feel the experience being in a palace.
I believe best location in whole budapest. Literally EVERYTHING is a walking distance. And also close to metro and all the main attractions. Really highly recommended
This is a truly unique experience in Budapest. We wanted something different than a simple hotel room and this was a great choice. The room was cosy with a great view of the island and the beds were very comfy. The shower is indeed small but it’s a boat after all. The location is also convenient, close to Danube cruises and city centre.
The hotel was roughly a 7minute walk going to the city centre, the room is very eco-friendly and classy and the intercontinental breakfast was good! I'm very satisfied with the single room I had as a solo traveller.

I loved the room, very spacious and clean. The bathroom was in great condition, and the amenities in the room such as coffe maker and fridge were high quality. Being located in a mall, the hotel is probably the best located in all of Budapest and I would recommend it to everyone for conveniences sake if not amenities
One of the best hotels in Budapest! Very nice, spacious and comfortable rooms. Good size bathroom and very cozy bed. The Reception staff was very professional, kind and helpful. The breakfast was also delicious. Big plus for the private parking.
I will definitely book again!
Great position in the city centre to visit all Budapest best sights. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Nice bar/restaurant within the hotel and they offer you a free cocktail/beer on arrival. Staff was kind and helpful. Good WiFi connection in the hotel.
I had a good time in Budapest and I liked the Silver Hotel, because it has a good price, it is clean and comfortable. It is located in the city centre and you can have a good view from your room. The breakfast is pretty good also. I can recommend it.
The hotel location in a green residential area, easy to reach by car from Budapest's city centre.
The view from the room was very nice.
24h reception.
Free parking.
Cleanliness.
Mosquito nets on the windows allow to keep them open anytime.
Very nice clean hotel....very kind people work there no problem for english speaking guests.parking is also very good and cheap parking compare to city centre hotels...... metro station Puskas Ferenc stadion is next to hotel.
