PS has improved since my last visit, COVID is in the rearview mirror and the town is alive again! The homeless situation is very much improved! The Zoo is a must-see as well as the Air Museum! Don't forget to visit the reservation for some great hikes and hopeful big-horn sheep sitings! And don't forget the tram!

Famous Palm Springs seems now to be more of a typical mass...
Famous Palm Springs seems now to be more of a typical mass market tourist town, with 2 major, long streets that include many big & small shops, restaurants, bars/clubs, & a 3rd side street that also has some of same but is more run-down & busy with 'drive-thru' local traffic & many condo complexes, some of which look somewhat 'run-down'.
Still, PS is luckily located right below a moderatly high series of desert mtn peaks which makes for a 'different', scenic Backdrop. While there could be even more semi-tropical Flowering plants placed downtown, there are certain areas where they stand out, making for some incredible visit-Pics. Other than a Casino& hotel complex a block or two away from downtown, the rest of PS seems old & run-down, but, now old desert towns tend to look that way.
Also, there are some other interesting, and even more upscale/modern towns just 4-5 miles south along Palm Canyon Dr. (or hwy 111), that are worth visiting or staying in (though usually at higher cost).

Loved the vintage vibe and history of the hotel.
Loved the vintage vibe and history of the hotel. Very clean. Alex takes care of everything from checkin to maintenance. Very efficient. Appreciated pet policy being that it is such a small common space. Place could use new towels and linens. However the size of the bungalos made up for it. Really enjoyed our stay and would def consider staying again.

We love Palm Springs and have stayed at several properties...
We love Palm Springs and have stayed at several properties there, but after our stay in the (glorious) Ricardo Suite at the Velvet Rope we have a vacation home to return to from now on. David Rios who designed all the suites and was our host, plus Kevin and Jeffery were as warm and accommodating as can be! We were delighted with every aspect of the hotel (touring many other suites there was also a visual treat), terrific pool deck, and we look forward to our return!!
The Life House is a beautiful boutique hotel experience located perfectly central to all things Palm Springs. The property is impressive, with all the amenities you could ask for. The staff is so attentive and take pride in serving your every need. From the most comfortable bed to great you every evening, to lavish Le Labo products in the perfect pressure shower. Make sure to visit Minerva's for a breakfast sandwich before heading to the pool where sun and fun and maybe a few cocktails await you.
We picked the hotel for its style and decor. It lived up to that - really captures the Palm Springs vibe.
The owner/manager seems lovely and well-intentioned. I think her staff group, or her management of the staff, was letting her down .
It's just about walking distance to downtown.
There's a nice big pool which the whole family enjoyed.
Like I said above, it would potentially be a nice self-catering experience if you had no kids and were happy with everything provided at the start.
We are Parrotheads (Jimmy Buffett fans) and so went for the ambiance and decor -- and we got both in spades. The hotel rooms and public spaces were clean and airy, a little retro (it's the old Palm Springs Riviera Hotel) and were filled with tropical and nautical decor. It was just lovely and fun. The restaurants on site served great food (including maybe the best fish tacos we've ever had) and the staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful in a really noticeable way.
We thought the online photos were better than the accommodation in person. Location was great and the staff very friendly and helpful. We will keep an eye on the reviews, and maybe stay again when we are in town for Modernism Week in 2026! The Bed was very comfortable.
Life House could separate itself from the rest of what's on offer in Palm Springs with great food to attract patrons to stay or eat. All the best and thanks for the stay.
Boutique hotel close to center of Palm Springs .. clean and nice room however our mattress was made up of two twin mattresses put together so the middle part of the bed was separating when we were laying down which was pretty annoying and uncomfortable. Walk in shower was clean but water pressure was not great . Pool and jacuzzi was nice but I don’t think we will go there again unless there’s no other availability in the area.
We stayed here 4 years ago and loved it so decided to re-visit this hotel on our latest trip to Palm Springs. It's a lovely retro hotel in a peaceful location but just a short walk from Palm Canyon Drive with all the shops and restaurants. Love the decor and it's super clean. Happy hour every day is great with drinks and snacks by the pool. Good buffet breakfast. Free parking on site. Very friendly and helpful staff.
We didn’t expect anything, but were pleasant surprised. The hotel fits perfectly in de ambiance of Palm Springs and and is ideal for a nice family photo. The rooms were spacious and the bathroom was clean and modern. The swimming pool was certainly not a luxury, because we do not know these temperatures in the Netherlands. The hotel is located within driving distance of the city center.
Breakfast was basic but sufficient. Location was along a busy road so this could be better. Overall the layout of the hotel, the reception and complementary items were above expectation. On our 16 days trip we stayed at 9 different hotels across California and Nevada. Mostly 4 and 5 stars, but Hotel California was the best by far.
A really charming family-run hotel/motel with lots of character and very close to the centre of Palm Springs. Very helpful and friendly staff, lovely swimming pool and an excellent, highly-rated restaurant on site - (but note, not open every night). And very good value in the price range
The location is near downtown Palm Springs yet more peaceful location on the south end of town. The double beds met my needs. The decor of the room was simple yet accommodating without stupid trendy needless decorations that some hotels feel justification to bump up the price.
We had a great stay at the Ace Hotel. Very relaxed vibe, which was welcomed after a full on week working in LA. Super big, cosy bed, and we enjoyed the room. Loved The Kings Highway for lunch, and loved the relaxing by the pool area. Really friendly, helpful staff.
Beautiful boutique hotel, very clean, and great kitchen area with snacks and drinks. Lovely stylish ambience. Seamless no-hassle check-in with a very detailed welcome message sent to email/text with no need to spend extra time checking in.
It is situated in an excellent location, very close to the main shopping/restaurants road. It is relatively cheap given the average Palm Springs prices. The room was clean and comfortable.
The hotel is in a convenient location at the north end of the main drag in Palm Springs. Checking in was easy and there was plenty of parking. The area and hotel felt safe.
We loved this adorable Retro Hotel. Cute little bungalows that took you a step back in time. Friendly and helpful staff. Will stay again next time we go to Palm Springs!!!
From the moment Mark greeted us at the door by name to walking past the serene pool area, I knew I had chosen the right hotel for our much needed break in Palm Springs.
Enjoyed our stay. The hotel was secluded and very private considering it was located in downtown Palm Springs. Very clean and relaxing place. We'll be back.
