The property is beautiful in a quiet town. The hosts were so friendly and went above and beyond. You can tell they put love into everything they do. Grab some meat and veggies for BBQ when you arrive. The property is bigger than the pictures make it seem.

The owners were such fantastic hosts and could not do enough to make my daughter and I feel welcome. They offered to teach us to make Gohei Mochi and we had a wonderful time learning how to do this. The results were really yummy. The house was beautiful and in a great location. We had come to hike from Magome to Tsumago and the house was right on the path. The house was delightfully warm with a stove to keep us toasty. Fantastic facilities including a kitchen. Drinks and snacks are also available. The house has beautiful views outside the window and is right next to a bus stop to get home after your hike. The owners were charming and welcoming hosts with whom it was wonderful to spend time. They also helped us to book our onwards trip. A truly delightful stay which I would love to repeat.

It's not every day you find yourself staying in a property that's featured on local tourism signs, but this is one. I loved it. If you want the experience of staying in a true Edo place... stay here. The bathroom and kitchen have been updated (the wooden bathroom smells amazing). There are modern toilets. But the rest is original Edo style. It's a great place to use as a base for a roadtrip around the Kiso River Valley. You just feel like you're in another time. I absolutely loved it, and would stay here again.

This accommodation is clean, well appointed and lovely. The attention to detail is spot on. The architecture and views are stunning. It is close to the Nakasendo Trail, coffee and groceries. Nagiso is a small town and there are few restaurants which made us appreciate the kitchen even more. It is easy to get around by foot, bus or train.
