Owner Francesco went the extra mile to assist us throughout our stay and gave recommendations for restaurants/activities. His English was good with a little help from translation apps at times. It was a tranquil location set on an organic olive oil farm (buy some to take home). No other guests for most of our stay which made it even more idilic. The coast provided good snorkelling/swimming/boat trips.

44 km from Porto Turistico di Maratea, Casa Vacanze Nonna Suocera is a recently renovated property situated in San Severino and features air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and parking on-site. Excellent all round, staff great even though I booked late in the day. Super clean and useful facilities like a washing machine. Near the rail station and the local area was great to walk about in with the medieval village just up the hill. Very quiet location, I stayed in the detached cottage with garden. Worth noting the village bar is also a grocery store and to use the heating you need to turn both heaters to the same level.

It’s clean, has parking, a balcony to look over the mountains, sky and sea, the bathroom is wonderful, and the bed with very comfortable for two. I also made a special request for Presecco which they chilled, offer two glasses, candles and rose petals. It was romantic and thoughtful!
