Parking is also easy as there is a spot attached to the apartment. The landlord was very responsive and helpful when we had any questions I’d have not hesitation staying there again.

We had a truly memorable stay at Nao’s traditional Japanese house in Aomori during our trip to Tohoku. The home was beautifully maintained, blending authentic charm with modern comfort. It was located in a peaceful neighborhood, yet conveniently close to the city center and local attractions. Nao was an exceptional host—warm, thoughtful, and incredibly responsive. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with delightful gifts including local cider, juice, and even toys for both adults and our 5-year-old, which was such a lovely touch. Nao also helped us with transport by calling a taxi and provided great local recommendations that enriched our experience. The house itself was well-equipped and cozy, offering a perfect retreat after our daily adventures. We especially appreciated how it preserved the traditional Japanese aesthetic while ensuring all the essentials were available. We highly recommend Nao’s place to anyone visiting Aomori—whether you're traveling as a couple, with family, or solo. It’s a perfect blend of hospitality, comfort, and cultural charm.

We planned to stay here after watching the sunset at Jōgakura Bridge during the fall foliage season. The host asked us to select our check-in time in advance through messaging, but we arrived earlier than expected, so we contacted the host. They were available and kindly let us check in right away. The house is beautiful and wonderfully antique. The host showed us the old house, let us try on kimono, and even brought us mochi to enjoy. The property is very spacious, with a kitchen, a huge sofa, and comfortable beds with chargers next to each one. Everything was clean. Amenities are complete, including soap, shampoo, and toothbrushes. There is a FamilyMart right across the street. The entrance gate is quite narrow, so you need to drive carefully.

We also received a free day pass to the little local ski field just behind the house which we really enjoyed. The additional touches left by the host were great too - local jam, apple juice, face masks and coffee.
