Situated in Braga, 90 metres from Braga Se Cathedral, The Arch - Charming Apartments in the Historic Center features air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and express check-in and check-out. What a GEM, amazing apartment in the heart of Old Town, great location. Bed and pillows were comfy, bright room and private. Added bonus was the Terrace! Easy check in and out. I did not cook so l cannot speak to that but the kettle and microwave did work and l felt the kitchen was equipped enough for simple things. Honestly better than expected and great value for the money. It was perfect!

A recently renovated property, Three Little Birds is situated in Guimarães near Salado Memorial, Palace Duques de Bragança and Guimarães Castle. Absolutely lovely apartment, and in a great location. Bedrooms were good sizes, and the living room/kitchen area and bathroom were perfect for us (family of three). Everything felt more or less brand-new, and the welcome package and breakfast were really good. The hosts were lovely and communication was really thorough and responsive. Can't speak highly enough of either them or the apartment and we'd stay here again in a flash.

A recently renovated property, Maria de Lurdes Residências is located in Guimarães near Salado Memorial, Palace Duques de Bragança and Guimarães Castle. Absolutely stunning apartment in the heart of the birthplace of Portugal! My wife and kids enjoyed a lovely week holiday on this property where we were met by the host that right away made us feel extremely welcomed and at peace in all senses! They were very helpful with ideas and recommendations of places to visit and enjoy some amazing local gastronomy, all the amenities were 100% well kept, safe for children of all ages. The kitchen had all the appliances needed, the laundry room was always well stocked and full of bedsheets, blankets, extra pillows and detergents. We cannot recommend this property enough and we will definitely come back on future holidays! Guimarães has won a special place on our hearts.

Located in Esposende, 20 km from Shipyards of Viana do Castelo, Albergue Ultreya has a private beach area, private parking and rooms with free WiFi access. Very clean and they provided clean ironed linen. The showers are very clean and have soap and some feminine stuff if you need for ladies. That was a very nice surprise.

10 km from Parque Nacional da Peneda Geres, JADS Guesthouse is a recently renovated property located in Fafião and provides air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and private parking. Both the indoor as the outdoor spaces are incredible. Peaceful and beautiful. Here you can really step out of your busy routines and enjoy nature and calmness, with lots of beautiful hikes nearby.

Set in Guimarães within less than 1 km of Salado Memorial and a 16-minute walk of Palace Duques de Bragança, Casa do Visconde by Guestify offers rooms with free WiFi. Really welcoming and communicative, the place is beautiful and recently renovated.

Quinta de Cypriano - Wine & Nature is set in Ponte da Barca and has a pool with a view and garden views. Private parking is available on site at this recently renovated property. Great location and fantastic view at the wine yard. But most importantly, it is unique combination of 17 century Quinta farmhouse surrounding and modern design and comfort of the room.

Boasting air-conditioned accommodation with a patio, O Cabano das Azenhas is situated in Valença. This property offers access to a balcony, free private parking and free WiFi. The place was very comfortable and warm with every amenity. The owners met me at the gate with an umbrella, walked me to the apartment and showed me inside. To top off the charming creature comforts, they brought us dinner and a lovely bottle of local wine.
