She took us for a walk in her village, and everyone was so smiley and kind. It felt like an authentic slice of life, especially compared to our usual touristy hangouts in Bangkok. We rented a car and visited all the local attractions, as well as two national parks. I wasn't sure we could really find enough to do for five days, but it was wonderful.
