Three mates on a very loosely planned trip, we happened upon the property on Booking.com after being recommended to go to the annual Chestnut festival in neighbouring village, Montella. We were surprised when it turned out that our host Mario also had a family-run Osteria in the festival, where we were welcomed in style with ridiculously good countryside food. Those looking for a relaxed, genuine and inviting rural experience will not be disappointed! The town is well off the beaten track and beautifully situated, if authentic experience is your aim. The apartment itself was clean, well-maintained, and stocked with water, coffee, soap etc. and within walking distance to shops and a couple of very decent local trattorias.

Found ourselves back in Sorrento, and decided to rent a car and drive to Bagnoli Irpino for the Chestnut Truffle festival. Casa Cambria is located right in the main square, and was a perfect place to spend the night and stay late for the full aspect of the festival. Great wine, food, music and fun.

Le Caselle is a great place to relax, just a short drive from Nusco, a charming mountain village in Avellino. The house is cozy with a fireplace, and the big garden is perfect for enjoying the outdoors. There’s also a BBQ area, making it great for family meals or gatherings. We had a wonderful time meeting old friends there. The host was very nice and gave us a warm welcome, which made our stay even better. Nusco also has a great butcher, perfect for picking up fresh meats to grill on the BBQ. It’s a peaceful spot, close to nature and a great base for exploring the area. Highly recommend it for a relaxing getaway!
