This is a wonderful place to stay in Gujo if you would like to experience what it’s like to live here! With a view of Gujo Hachiman castle from the upstairs window, this house and town are simply great. Quiet, comfortable, within walking distance of what you come here to see. The owner, Masahiro-San, will treat you like family, and his advice about what to see and where to eat is spot on. If you cannot carry your suitcase up the steps to the upper floor, you can bring the futons downstairs and sleep on the heated floor. We came here with another couple and we all loved this house and Gujo. Ask Masa-San to pick you up at the station, if he can he will! The great reviews are very deserving, if you like Japanese style living you will like Nomad Inn. The 6 am. temple bell will remind you every morning what another world it is here!

Amazing host!! Recommended for perfect experience living in Japanese style homes 🏠 with scenic views of mountains and river. Soothing and relaxing ☺️ Kids loved it👍

Located within 35 km of Takayama Station and 38 km of Hida Minzoku Mura Folk Village in Takayama, Yunohirakan features accommodation with seating area. Everything was Amazing The rooms, food and the onsen. We arrived right at the check in time to make use of the onsen as much as possible. The location is amazing and i would definitely recommend the dinner and breakfast. The staff was amazing.

Situated in a tranquil area in Gifu Region, a 52-minute drive away from JR Takayama Station, Mozumo boasts a hot-spring bath and rooms decorated with modern Japanese interior. My stay at Mozumo was a dream—a very relaxing experience. The private onsen in the room made everything very special. The room was big and comfortable. I would strongly recommend the dinner and breakfast experience. A shuttle picked us up from the bus station, which was helpful after a long trip.

Boasting a private open-air bath, Oyado Eitaro is situated in Takayama. Featuring free private parking, the 2-star ryokan is 35 km from Takayama Station. This is a beautiful hotel, clean, and with very friendly staff. It has private onsens as well as female and male ones. It's about a 10 min walk from the ski field and 5 mins from the bus station. The rooms are well heated and come with private bathrooms.

Reopened after renovation in 2022, Auberge Hidanomori is situated in quiet hills, a 10-minute shuttle ride from JR Takayama Station. Everything was extraordinarily well handled. Dinner and breakfast were phenomenal. The staff was extremely friendly and spoke good english. There is an impressive wine collection and a very knowlegeable owner to cater to your tastes during dinner. The surrounding area is very calm and close to the forest for some serene walking in the morning. Probably the best place i have stayed in my month of traveling in Japan.

ひらゆの森別邸湯う香三蔵庵 is set in the Hirayu Onsen district of Takayama, 47 km from The Japan Ukiyo-e Museum, 49 km from Matsumoto Station and 13 km from Kamikochi. Location, private onsen in the suite, kaiseki dinner is elegant and delicious, so is the delicious breakfast, both served in our room, it’s a great experience. The staffs are very warm and helpful. It gave free entrance ticket to the big public onsen which is a great extra benefit.

Set in Gujo, 民泊Azoo provides accommodation 5.8 km from Takasu Snow Park and 6.8 km from Dynaland Ski Resort. Really nice and cosy accommodation. The hosts were very friendly and went above and beyond to help us when we needed it. Highly recommend.
